Shane's days just get better and better !!! I love the role you have found for Albert Wesker here. This is a mamoth work, of great quality, and makes deeply intense reading. We are lucky here at Crimson Head Elder to be showcasing this exciting story. Thanks sir for posting this, and I look forward, as too do others, I am sure, to reading more from you.

Thank you very much, many have agreed that it would make a great Resident Evil book and game since it takes place before and after the events of Residnet Evil 5 and also in Raccoon City during the outbreak.

-Chapter 9

Shane yawned and stretched his arms again before rubbing the sleep from his eyes. Licking his dry lips Shane grabbed what was left in the water bottle near his night stand and drank it all down before crushing the empty bottle in his fist and tossing it in a nearby bin.

He had enjoyed the reading and the meal but he couldn't shake this uneasy feeling he had. Besides the fact Excella sounded like Natasha there was something else bothering him but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. Dismissing his feelings for now Shane cleaned up the rest of the mess he had made after eating and then sat there on the edge of the bed a long time. His left elbow rested on his left leg while his forehead rested in the palm of his left hand, his hair falling over his fingers, he felt lonely and bored now. Sure he was lonely in the asylum but he would at least interact with human beings on a regular basis. So what if they were either insane, an orderly or some asshole guard, it was still human contact of some kind. But here, there was nothing.

Shane was bored, he wanted to sit down with Wesker and talk with him some more. Perhaps get to know him better and what his mysterious plans seemed to be about. He scanned the room again and realized there was nothing in it besides him really. In the asylum he was used to having someone watch him all the time, not so hidden cameras kept a close eye on him and remained out of his reach in the far corners of the ceilings, but here the corners were empty except for a shelf or a painting hung near them.

As crazy as it sounds Shane had always felt a certain kind of comfort from the cameras unless he needed to be alone. Certain drives and needs could never be stopped by the medication no matter how strong it was. When those urges hit that was when the cameras became his enemies forcing him to hide under his bed to read from that trashy romance novel or to take a certain other matter into his own hand.

He smiled lightly remembering he slept better under his bed after that and it was an old habit of his that he still found hard to break even now. He had loved that the orderlies and guards would get irritated to no end by this. In the beginning it would make them panic when they checked his room and all they saw was an empty bed. He'd been beaten a few times for doing it but after a while the guards figured it was another of his crazy quirks and nothing could be done about it.

Often times it was his only time alone to do what he pleased, but thinking of doing it now in this new place in the open made him feel uncomfortable. But considering the bed he has was the kind with no empty space under it, instead the mattress laid on top of a solid oak platform with drawers arranged on the side for clothing and extra bedding. It would be next to impossible to fit inside one and he dismissed the thought immediately.

Shane chuckled at the thought of huddling inside a drawer and stood up from the bed and moved into the center of the room. He pushed the food trolley and a large easy chair out of his way so he could have more space. Once that was done he started to stretch and caught his reflection in the large mirror. It had been so long since he last saw himself in a full mirror and realized how much different he looked now compared to the last time he was able to do this. Still feeling uneasy he looked around the room again and made sure he was really alone and that there was no hidden camera anywhere. Certain he wasn't being watched by cameras Shane locked the door and then took a heavy oak desk chair against the door wedging it under the door knob before moving back to the mirror.

Turning his head from side to side he realized his hair needed cutting, that was for sure but he couldn't help but turn around and look over his shoulder at the scars on his back. He could still feel the pain of the claws ripping through him scooping out chunks of flesh. How the wounds felt like burning gasoline was being splashed into them every time he breathed or moved and the filthy air of that city seeped into his wounds.

Shane let out a sigh thinking about that night in Raccoon City wishing it would go away from his mind but it would forever be there, like everything else that has happened to him. He wanted those images erased from his brain but no matter how hard he wished it they never left. He hit the mirror with the palm of his hand making a loud slapping noise but the mirror didn't budge from its frame. Hot tears of frustration started to stream out of his eyes as he shut them tight and rested his head against the mirror. His sobs fogged the thick glass as he questioned why he was ever created.

As far as he could tell his life from the very moment of conception was a lie and it had been serving no real purpose since he was taken to the asylum, "It was just all so fucking pointless, tests and more tests, indignity after indignity heaped upon me and for what?" he thought as a tear streamed off his cheek landing on his bare foot. He wiped his closed eyes on his forearm making it slick with tears. Shane wanted to be stronger but it was just too hard sometimes. He was well aware his mental and emotional states were so messed up from everything that had happened to him. But he read of other survivors who went on to live normal lives, so why couldn't he? Was fate so cruel it would deny him something as simple as an average life? He often found himself wondering what if that day in Raccoon City didn't happen, where would he have been at this moment instead of falling apart?

Shane stood there sobbing as he wondered, "Why am I even still alive?" Umbrella never used him for whatever purpose they created him for so what did Wesker and Excella have planned for him? He wanted to know, he had so many questions tearing at his brain but the same thing kept happening. He saw someone in the mirror he barely recognized and all he could do was slide down on his knees crying.

He desperately wanted it to stop it but he couldn't and all the pain and emotion he had bottled it up and forced down inside him was finally being released in one long body shaking torrent. Sofia's death, the only person that was there for him gone forever, and then he thought of Kristoff, was he even still alive? His chest tightened up and he clawed at it with his right hand and his left one punched the floor. His throat was raw from breathing so hard and the mucus from his nose was making him gag. He started coughing and but even after expelling what was in his throat out he still couldn't make it stop. He realized it wasn't just from the crying as he had hoped but it was the coughing fits he had before returning in full force. They made him curl over and get on his hands and knees coughing wildly before they finally subsided enough for him to breath normally again and was able to sit on the floor panting, trying to catch his breath.

"When will this end…?" He asked in a harsh whisper wiping the wetness from his face with his hands before looking at the mirror again disgusted with himself. He became angry and thought, "If I'm so fucking perfect, why don't I look it?" He stood up and ripped his boxer shorts down tossing them onto the plush couch. "No more crying, I'm not a scared kid anymore." he thought, "If this is me now then I need to get used to it and stop whining and stop feeling sorry for myself!"

Shane stood naked in front of the mirror studying his body and face. They had no mirrors in the asylum though Shane managed to swipe a small pocket mirror out of a nurse's purse once it wasn't something he could use to see himself as a whole. Even the bathrooms didn't have mirrors and he was only able to get a shower once a week at the asylum but he was watched even then by the orderlies who often gave him strange looks when he was soaping himself up.

Shane hit the mirror again and still it didn't budge in its frame. He remembered those guard's looks reminded him of the bastards who hounded him as a teenager just because he was different. Bullies always hated him because he was smarter, faster and more mature than they could ever hope to be. Soon he looked at himself smiling a little bit at seeing everything on him was fine even from behind. He froze when he realized the only scars or visible markings were the scars on his back. His face fell quickly to his left arm, he hadn't notice the scares on it were missing after he peeled his bandages off. Even more incredible there were no signs of scabs or even cuts on his skin.

A shaky breath escaped him, did those pills he had to take make him heal that fast? Were they really healing pills like Wesker told him. "What the hell is going on..?" He asked shaking his head before looking into the mirror again. He held up his arm and twisted it around in the mirror to make sure he was seeing it from both sides and saw it was a perfectly normal arm with no scars of any kind on it. He smiled and thought, "If the scars on my arm could vanish like that could the ones on my back be far behind if I keep taking those pills Wesker gives me?" Shane was suddenly overtaken with joy at the thought that maybe he could be normal again.

He hadn't realized how good it felt being nude until this point, free from wearing clothing but it also allowed him to admire his changes, all those workouts were paying off, he was developing a six pack, something he thought only guys in comic books had. Shane bent his knees and watched his muscles tense and bulge. He stood up and flexed his arms and noticed they were still thin but somewhat more muscular as well. Turning around again Shane wiggled his ass at the mirror and chuckled, "Kiss my ass you losers! Let's see you try and bully me now!"

Shane turned around and stood straight and mimicked one of Wesker's stances pretending he was talking to that asshole orderly that used to pick on him. Shane started laughing when he realized he did look a lot like Wesker than he had previously thought. "Maybe he really is my dad." He turned around and spun back towards the mirror and struck a pose he remembered seeing in an old movie from the 1970s that was about disco. He then put his hands behind his head before sticking his tongue out at the mirror swaying his hips around in a circle before doing some hard pelvic thrusts at the mirror.

Shane remembered he had done that one time before when he was fully dressed. When he was fourteen another kid from a different class had tried picking on him. He had a lisp and Shane remembered doing that dance in front of him saying it was the kid at his gay dance party and that the last part was Shane with the boy's mother. The kid got angry immediately and tackled Shane into the grass beside the playground. Despite his initial first strike Shane ended up on top of him after a few well placed punches. His victory was short lived when he was grabbed by a teacher and dragged into the principle's office. After Sofia scolded him Shane did his best from that point on not to fight and he became the victim of bullies because of this.

Shane still looked at himself in the mirror and started rubbing his right arm, there was so many times he wished his father was with him back then, there was so much he needed to speak to Wesker about, like his real mother, Alexia. He was only told her name but was never given any specifics beyond that. Who was she? Where had she been while he was growing up and more importantly where was she now?

A sigh escaped his lips as his headache came rushing back, the pain forcing him to put his boxer shorts back on before removing the chair from the door, once it was back behind the desk he crawled back in to the bed and laid on his side with his back facing the door. He put himself through too much. He had too many emotions raging inside of him and it made his head hurt whenever he had an episode like this. Shane relaxed and let his eyes close and let sleep claim him once more.

Behind the mirror a camera silently watched Shane sleep. Excella sat in her bungalow by herself and cut the feed from the camera to her laptop after saving the video file to an encrypted folder. She wore nothing but a long white bathrobe as she sat in the plush red velvet desk chair sipping a glass of wine.

She knew hacking into Wesker's camera feeds would come in handy. Clearly the boy had emotional issues but there were also some… delicious possibilities she hoped to explore with him once she gained his trust. Excella closed the laptop, walked into her bedroom and slipped off her robe before shutting the door.

(part 2 of ch9)

1998 - Raccoon City – Several days after First Infection

It had been almost three hours since the pilot from the extraction helicopter radioed that they had to withdraw from the city when the pilots and several civilians were wounded from stray gunfire. They had been flying in low over an apartment building attempting to rescue survivors who were held up on the roof. Somehow the virus carriers broke through the barricade they had made and one man armed with a machine gun began firing wildly as he was swarmed and pulled apart.

The decision was made to get back to base and treat the injured leaving Kristoff and his men to fend for themselves. After Kristoff was told this he was given more bad news which made him once again start cursing in German at the person on the other end of the radio. He didn't say what was going to happen just that they had to double time it to a new extraction point on the overpass leading out of the city before dawn.

Shane had tried to walk on his own but the pain kept him from walking very far or very fast and now with this new deadline upon them Kristoff insisted on carrying the boy strapped to his back on a makeshift cradle board. One of the men in the company referred to it as a papoose.

Shane hated not being able to run like a normal person but the pain in his back was too intense for him to do much. His legs shook whenever he tried to do it on his own and if he tried to raise his hands above shoulder height it also caused him sharp pains. Kristoff made Stan wrap his torso in an extra roll of bandaging so the shaking from Kristoff's jogging wouldn't rip Shane's stitches.

The men formed a square formation around Kristoff with Stan following right behind keeping an eye on Shane. Whenever they would stop to take a short breather Stan would always check Shane's vitals and ask how he was feeling. Being around these soldiers Shane felt safe and secure despite the madness that was all around them and he was impressed with the efficiency of the team.

As they made their way out of the city the attacks by the infected citizens became less frequent but even so whenever a threat arose, the team acted as one and dispatched it. Still, as safe as he felt Shane couldn't stop thinking of kept that lizard monster with the huge clawed hands. What was it? Had it been human once? Now that he had been scratched by one could he become one too?

Thankfully the team hadn't encountered one of those things in their run through the city. He knew they had shot and killed several infected humans who some of the men referred to as zombies. A pair of zombie dogs came close to biting one team member when they suddenly leaped out of a store front window but Kristoff and another member managed to kill them before the dogs got close to actually biting anyone.

Still the thought of that lizard thing kept coming back to Shane. But more than that he kept hoping that Heather had made it out of the city and she was safe. Heather Peterson was probably one of the prettiest girls Shame had ever laid eyes on. She had sandy brown hair and brown eyes and almost always had a smile on her face. Despite his being a loner and something of a nerd who the other girls ignored Heather had always been nice to Shane and the two became fast friends over the course of a few weeks. Before he had gotten up the courage to ask her out, Heather asked him to go out with her to the movies and at the end of the movie she had given Shane his first kiss.

The day the outbreak started Shane was on the phone with Heather when the line suddenly went dead. He tried to convince Sofia to go to Heather's parent's place which she reluctantly agreed to but during the run there he got separated from her. Shane did manage to make it to Heather's apartment building but the place was engulfed in flames. Heather's parent's car was missing and he had seen an abandoned backpack he knew was Heather's from school lying at the bottom of the stoop with some clothing spilling out of it. Shane had hoped this was a sign that Heather and her family made it out of the building before the fire started and that maybe they had made it out of the city as well.

It wasn't until the sounds of gunshots and screaming in the distance were heard broke Shane out of his thoughts. He hadn't noticed it but they were on the onramp leading up to the overpass. Surprisingly there weren't a lot of vehicles choking this section of road unlike the city which was gridlocked with abandoned and wrecked vehicles.

"What is it?" Kristoff asked the point man over the radio as he and the rest of the unit knelt besides behind a large truck which was surrounded by some wrecked vehicles.

"We got a Tyrant… Mr. X class B.O.W. dead ahead." Said a voice over the radio. Kristoff pulled out his binoculars and stood up to get a better view. Underneath the street lights up ahead Kristoff could see the towering figure of Mr. X circling around slowly towards a UBCS member who was firing. It charged him and he rolled out of the way just being missed by the great brute's fist. There were only a few other UBCS members shooting it in the back and side as it ran past but all of them seemed to be down to handguns and one shotgun. Hardly enough to handle a monster like that.

Kristoff put his binoculars down as the radio crackled, "Sir, do we engage?"

Kristoff thought for a second and then barked out, "Move in and help them; we can't afford any more delays. Rain hell on that thing as soon as you get within range, I want heavy weapons to take the point on this."

Kristoff quickly scanned the inside of the old station wagon next to him with a small flashlight he had attached to his vest. Satisfied with the cursory examination, Kristoff unbuckled the papoose from his back and set Shane down gently on top of the roof the wrecked station wagon. He was nestled inside the luggage rack and sat against a large suitcase strapped to it. The station wagon's front end had been partially crushed in by colliding with the broadside of a large container truck in front of them. Pieces of glass were scattered about from the windshield exploding out from the impact.

Kristoff spoke matter of fact to Shane, "We're still leaving but my men need my help with this thing. Once it's dead our path will be clear and we can get out of here. But I am not going to take you into a fight with this thing. The area is clear but just in case, take this..."

Kristoff pulled a handgun out of a holster on his boot that he had hidden beneath his pants leg. He took the safety off and handed it to Shane who seemed surprised. Kristoff continued, "I know you know how to handle a weapon. If anything at all comes near you demand they halt and identify themselves. If they don't give you a verbal answer, shoot them in the head."

"But…" Shane said pointing toward the battle. "We're so close to it." He said wincing as he shifted his weight slightly to get comfortable.

"I know Shane, but as long as you sit here it won't be able to see you. The wrecked truck in front of you is blocking his view." He said checking his weapon before hearing his team opening fire in the distance. "Sit tight Shane, I promise I will make it back to get you out of here. Just stay alert." With that Kristoff jogged around the sideways truck towards the battle.

Shane looked at the gun in his hand and felt the weight of it. He remembered Kevin Ryman letting him hold his service pistol and actually letting him shoot it a few times in secret. Shane's hands shook slightly as a cold breeze whipped through the wrecked cars making a haunting whistling sound as the sounds of yelling and gunfire echoed in the distance. Several of the street lights nearest the wreck were not working so only the glow of the moon shed a small amount of light on this section of freeway.

Shane was listening to the battle in the distance so he hardly noticed the sound of something moving beneath him inside the station wagon until he felt a soft thump of something sliding into the passenger seat beneath him. He froze and gripped the gun tight, looking around to either side. The passenger side door was crushed against the concrete divider so he focused his attention on the front of the car and the driver's side door.

The moon was briefly blocked by a passing cloud and when it shined again on the car Shane noticed a small hand reaching out onto the hood from inside the car. Soon another hand snaked out slowly and Shane raised the gun and pointed it down towards the hood. His hands shook as a young girl with brown matted down hair slowly pulled her self onto the hood. Another cloud passed over the moon enveloping the area in darkness again for a brief moment. When the cloud passed Shane was shocked to see the name on the back of the soccer shirt was Peterson.

(Done by Wondermanrules, you can see original here for better details: )

His throat went dry when he realized it was Heather's soccer jersey and that he must have been sitting on top of her family's car. In the darkness it just looked like another abandoned wreck on the overpass to Shane. Maybe she was injured and hid in the car after something happened to her family? He was about to say her name when Heather pulled herself further onto the hood and her midsection abruptly ended in a bloody tangle of bone and internal organs.

Shane's hands started shaking violently as he let out a strangled squeak of a whisper, "Heather…no…"

With that Heather stopped crawling and turned her head slowly to the side looking over her left shoulder. Her milky white eye stared blankly up at Shane as she slowly slide herself around the glass on the hood and let out a wet gurgling moan. Her hands clawed at the roof grabbing the front of the luggage rack as Shane panicked and scrambled backwards against the suitcase behind his back. He gritted his teeth and let out a muffled groan from the pain from hitting his back off the bulky luggage.

His eyes had flashing spots of light and he blinked them away in time to see Heather's face leering at him over the front bar of the luggage rack. The right side of her face had been torn apart. Shredded muscle, tendon and dangling scraps of flesh hung loosely around her exposed cheek and jaw bones. Her eyes and the glass embedded in that side of her face almost seemed to glow white in the light of the moon as she stared at Shane unblinkingly.

Shane was shaking as he raised the gun, "Please don't… please Heather please don't…" he repeated out load without knowing it. His body was wracked with pain and it made it difficult for him to hold still. Hot tears started to flow from his eyes as he blinked and Heather was slowly inching towards him. Her mouth was open now and she let out another moan as her bloody fingers grabbed on to Shane's sneaker.

Heather moaned louder as she grabbed onto his pant's leg gripping his calf hard and pulled herself closer. Shane pressed the shaking barrel of the gun against her forehead, "Heather forgive me…" he whispered as he pulled the trigger. The back of Heather's head exploded in a shower of gore as her hand spasmed on his leg one final time as her grip loosened and her torso flopped backwards onto the hood of the car. Her lifeless eyes stared blankly into the sky as Shane sat there weeping.

Shane wasn't aware of how long he sat there with the gun pointed at Heather's corpse and he didn't react when Kristoff and Stan rushed back towards him. His eyes could not stop crying and staring at Heather. Kristoff gingerly removed the gun from Shane's grasp and as he tried to get him to focus on his voice. Shane didn't really hear it or notice Stan examining him and shining a light in his eyes nor did he react when Kristoff scooped him up into his arms and began running with him towards a helicopter in the distance that had landed on the overpass.

All Shane could do was look back over Kristoff's shoulder and see Heather looking up at the moon one last time before she disappeared behind a wrecked truck that grew more distant with each hurried step. All Shane said in a low, robotic whisper over and over again was, "Heather forgive me…" as he was loaded onto the helicopter…

Ch 9 Part 3-

The night had been wonderful despite the fact Shane had been dreaming of Raccoon City again. Surprisingly his mind didn’t subject him to one of the thousands of nightmares he usually had regarding that place, instead he relived a memory of he and Kevin Ryman when they would be at the park. Even though Kevin was beat after being on night patrol in the city he always made time to take Shane to school through a shortcut in the park that lead to the school. Shane loved Kevin and he would sometimes ask him to stop so they could play catch or do something fun for a while before Shane had to go to class. Those days stuck with him the most out of his better memories. These were the times he actually felt that Kevin could have been his father or at the very least a replacement of his father he had long been told was dead. When Kevin would come by the apartment Shane and his mother shared, it made him feel happy. He was always there making a joke or a wise ass comment which always made Shane smile and his mother laugh. Shane always looked up to Kevin and his cool devil may care attitude. On a few occasions Kevin secretly took Shane to a shooting range in the woods just outside the city where he would let him fire his .45 pistol which was one of the best times Shane would ever have with him. That’s were he learned to fire and handle a gun and where Kevin got serious and taught him the proper way to handle weapons and how to respect them. It was during these times that Shane’s desire to be a cop like Kevin or maybe even join the army bloomed in full. His mind switched and Shane suddenly dreamed of Heather who always said being a cop was too dangerous and would beg Shane to reconsider when they were alone together supposedly studying in her room. Heather’s parents both worked afternoons so when Shane and Heather would get out of school more often than not they would head to the brownstone apartment building where she lived that stood near the park. Heather’s big argument was always, “Shane you’re too smart to be a cop! You learn every subject you take in school so easily. You should become an inventor or a scientist.” Shane would try to argue his point but Heather would always get the better of him. He was a teenage boy after all and all Heather would have to do is kiss him and suddenly only that kiss mattered. They had never gone “all the way” but they came pretty damn close a few times. His mind would always go back to these moments or that cheap romance novel and play out erotic scenarios in his head as he slept. Shane was in a deep sleep laying with his back to the door to his room so he was unaware of the door softly opening and a figure standing in the darkness looking at him. Shane was curled up and hugging the extra pillow in the bed. He coughed which made the person in the doorway step backwards half a step slightly closing the door. They paused for a minute and then slowly opened the door again and stood there for a moment before taking a few steps in the room and closing the door until it was only ajar. Excella stood there in the darkness of the room looking at Shane sleep in the soft dim light of the half moon outside that shone directly through the large window. She knew this was dangerous but she couldn’t help but want to be closer to Shane to look at him. Albert was off site miles away checking on things with Ricardo Irving and wouldn’t be back for hours. Everything in this section of the compound was suffering a power blackout thanks to an overloaded breaker. It wouldn’t be fixed until dawn so Excella took this opportunity to pay a visit on the handsome young man who fascinated her. She needed the excitement of being this close to him in the room since watching him on her pirated video feed was losing its thrill, especially since the boy never seemed to do much of anything except sleep and exercise in the nude. The scars on Shane’s back seemed somewhat smaller than before but no less vivid in the moonlight. Shane’s muscles rippled underneath the large slash marks as he breathed in and out slowly and deeply. Excella scanned his body hungrily and bit her pointer finger contemplating running her nails down his back during sex. The covers only covered Shane’s lower body just below the top curve of his bare buttocks and Excella couldn’t stop staring at them like a horny teenager. Shane coughed again and Excella’s heart pounded faster for a few beats as she thought of her excuse for being in the room if Shane had woken up. There was a brief moment of silence as Shane slowly rolled onto his back with his legs flat on the mattress and one arm draped lazily over his chest. Excella gasped and clapped her hands over her mouth to stop the noise when she saw the sheet over his crotch pushed up like a circus tent straining against the main pole holding it erect. She couldn’t believe the size of it, it had to be an illusion. She knew it was big when it was flaccid and he exercised in front of the two way mirror but seeing it at attention like this blew her mind. She had been with many men before this but none of them compared to the size of this…thing she was looking at. Excella decided she couldn’t fight her urges anymore and she had to see this masterpiece unveiled. Excella crept to the foot of the bed and slowly grabbed the sheet covering Shane and very, very slowly started to pull them towards her. Shane’s breathing stayed deep and only a part of him stirred slightly as the sheet was slowly pulled down to his knees. Excella’s eyes bulged in surprise as she had to once again suppress a giggle looking at this tower of flesh standing there proudly before her. “I wonder if I could touch it without waking him?” she thought to herself, “Shane had been taking his pills after all and they did make him very sleepy afterwards, but would they make him sleep that deep?” Excella was visibly excited by the thought of doing this but then Shane stirred again breaking her out of her musings. He mumbled something incoherent as his hand and arm twitched. Excella froze for a second before Shane mumbled a name that sounded like “Natasha” and his hand clenched in a fist and punched the mattress hard. Excella was startled by the sudden violent motion and quickly ran out the door which shut with a loud clack. The sudden noise made Shane’s eyes pop open and he sat up bolt straight looking around the shadowed room. He blinked and rubbed his eyes looking around and saw nothing out of the ordinary. He couldn’t recall what he was dreaming about but it must have been something exciting considering the covers were on the floor and he had to piss so bad he had a full blown case of morning wood in the middle of the night. Shane rubbed the top of his scalp, got up and went to the bathroom. It felt like forever since he took a leak and once it was done he felt a million times better. He flushed the toilet, washed his hands and came back into the room. Shane lied down in bed but couldn’t seem to fall back asleep. He laid there for twenty minutes and decided he had obviously been dreaming of something exciting and sexy considering things hadn’t calmed down for him any more than when he first awoke. Shane grabbed a wad of tissues in his left hand, closed his eyes and slowly rubbed his right hand down his chest and abdomen… Inside the hidden room behind the mirror Excella watched the event unfolding in front of her with growing excitement. She locked the door to the room and slipped out of her black dress and thong. She decided if Shane was going to put on a show this good far be it from her to pass up this solo performance. Several minutes later Shane threw out the used tissues once he was done with them. He stretched a little in front of the full length mirror, coughed and then laid back down, snuggling the extra pillow as he pulled the thin top blanket over himself. The asylum rarely allowed patients to have the good, thick blankets and sheets unless they were sick. Feeling this slick cool material on his skin made him smile contentedly as he drifted quickly back to sleep. Excella was pulling her dress back on over her sweaty body. She blew a kiss at Shane from behind the mirror and left the hidden room. It was near dawn when she slipped into her bungalow and took a nice long soapy shower before laying down in her silk sheeted bed and drifting off to sleep. Wesker returned from his trip with Irving sometime in the afternoon. When he heard about the breaker failure it had already been fixed and Excella reported to him that there were no incidents other than the power failure in Shane’s section during the night. Wesker seemed agitated until Excella further explained that she personally checked on Shane herself via the hidden room and the boy did nothing except sleep during it. Wesker was irritated that the subliminal recording was missed by Shane during REM sleep but he knew that Excella did all she could to make sure his projects were running smoothly so he couldn’t blame her for a mechanical malfunction and let her know he appreciated her checking in on Shane personally. Excella smiled, “It was my pleasure dear Albert.”

1998 - Raccoon City - The End of Raccoon City

The helicopter landed in the designated safe zone on the highway, there was a Chinook there and a large metal container, about fifteen survivors all locked on the railing of the highway gazing at Raccoon burning in the distance, there was a woman walking around trying hard to not cry, once the helicopter landed she ran over watching Kristoff and his men along with the other team getting off before gasping loudly seeing Shane.

"Shane!" She screamed running over nearly making Kristoff raise his rifle considering he and his team had been watching him for the past few days, Shane barely recognized his mother as she fell to her knees hugging him, her hot tears falling on him as he cringed in pain when her hug got to tight. "My baby, thank God you're alive!" She sobbed as Stan tried to pry her off.

"Ma'am, you need to let go, you're hurting the young lad." He said as she looked at him and then at Kristoff confused. "He's hurt." Stan continued as Sofia finally notice his bandages.

"Oh my God, what happened?!" She said looking at them both as Shane hugged her crying more, she kissed his head as Kristoff told her what happened and Stan filled her in how he gave him a shot, she knew it was a anti-virus shot but fortunately she had enough of Shane's shots that she can give him to help if there was an infection. "Thank you for taking care of him." She said standing up as they heard something loud thundering over head drawing their attention to the missile.

"Raccoon's end…" Kristoff said watching it vanish into Raccoon City and then the bright light, the thunderous boom startling everyone that was there making Shane hold onto Sofia's hand and Kristoff's leg as they watched Raccoon vanishing in a large cloud of fire and smoke. "That's it for Raccoon…" He said as Shane hugged his leg more making him look down at Shane before looking at Sofia looking at him. "You have a great kid." He said smiling lightly looking her over, she was a Native American but could not see any resemblance between her and Shane.

Stan was looking at the file again as the rest of the team watching on outside of the helicopter at Raccoon burning, he read more about the file and then looked at Sofia, her picture was in the file and she was listed to be terminated making him frown seeing Shane hugging her around the waist trying to stop crying but who can blame him after all he's been through, Kristoff soon joined him.

"We got as many as we can…" He said looking at Shane as Sofia looked him over stroking his head and cleaned his face. "But we still have a job to do…but I don't know if we should or not…" He said looking at Stan and the file.

"I think we should scrap this mission." Stan said watching Shane. "The kid has gone through enough pain and suffering already and who knows what Umbrella wants with him and his mother being terminated, it doesn't sound good." He said showing Kristoff who frowned instantly.

Shane hugged Sofia and told her what happened, how he had to kill Heather making her hold him again trying her best to comfort him.

"I wish dad was here." He said crying even though he never knew him, he needed more comfort besides from his mother.

"Hey squirt!" Came a familiar voice making Shane stop crying instantly rising his head to see Kevin coming over making him smile instantly. "Missed me?"

"Kevin!" Shane shouted fumbling over to him hugging him around the waist trying to fight off the burning pain on his back, Stan was already up and over to him making sure nothing was wrong. "I thought you were dead."

Kevin laughed at that. "I'm not going anywhere. That's for sure." He said bending down holding up his .45. "I got this, remember?" He asked as Shane smiled and nodded. "Besides, I can't go dying without making sure you and your mom are okay." He said making Shane smile more watching him stand up. "You look like hell Sofia, how long have you been out here?"

"A few days." She said keeping Shane close to her before leading him to a bench making him sit down pulling a bag out from under it, Shane remembered her packing things into it and flinched instantly seeing his shot. "You need it Shane, I don't want you to get sick when we leave." She said as Kristoff came over, he'd been watching them.

"Ma'am, what kind of shot is that?" He asked drawing Shane's attention quickly, Kristoff could see he was scared.

"It's his medication, he takes it every year." She said looking up at him before checking the needle. "It helps his body become stronger." She said holding Shane's arm now as he looked away groaning feeling it enter his arm. "Plus it'll help with any infection."

"He doesn't like it." Kristoff stated the obvious. "But then again who doesn't?"

"Are you leaving?" Shane asked once Sofia was finished, Kristoff could see in the boy's eyes that he didn't want him to leave.

"The team and I will have to." He said shaking his head. "We have to report to HQ about what happened. But we can stay a little longer." He said sitting down next to Shane who leaned against him.

"Thank you." He said softly. "I can trust you…" He said soon falling asleep leaning against Kristoff's arm.

That was the last time Shane ever saw him again….

3 Hours Later…

Wesker came by to check on Shane to find him working out in the middle of the room, before watching him throwing some punches and elbows, Wesker shook his head, he'll have to tell Shane once again to get some rest.

"Still not resting like I asked you to." He said startling Shane slightly since his back was to Wesker the entire time plus the door opened without making a sound, in the process Shane nearly fumbled to the floor when he was throwing another punch.

"Sorry…" Shane replied coughing for a moment seeing the food trolley being brought in by someone making him curious but the person left as Wesker walked over. "You're spoiling me you know that.." He said as Wesker patted him on the shoulder. "I'm…I'm not use to this…"

"You will over time." Wesker said handing him a book. "Read it, I expect you to be done with it by the time I come back." He said as Shane looked at the bold words on the cover. 'Tyrant Program' before looking at Wesker.

"Where you going?"

"Out, I need to…check on a few things before we get started with your training this week." He said smiling lightly. "Just make sure you don't hurt yourself more than you should, you're still recovering and I expect you to not cough once your healed otherwise I'll take you back to the asylum." He said which made Shane stiffen.

"Hell no." He said hurrying to the couch and sat down opening the book as Wesker chuckled and headed to the door. "Hey…" Shane said looking at him making him stop. "…thanks for…everything so far.." Shane said as Wesker nodded before leaving closing the door behind him locking it from the outside as Shane opened the book seeing 'Albert Wesker' written on the hardcover making him smile before looking at the food cart, he placed the book on the desk before pulling the trolley over wanting to eat while studying, he found three sliced hard boiled eggs making him smiling popping a slice into his mouth finding it was well cooked. "Mmm, haven't had a hard boiled egg in years." He said savoring the taste smiling seeing he was given juice and milk before laying the book in front of him opened after moving the laptop to the side. "Wonder why he wants me to read this…?" He wondered grabbing another slice reading the pages, but the more he read it felt like a sci-fi novel, by the time he finished it he was out of juice and egg slices making him pout but he had more food and smiled seeing the applesauce. "I guess they know of my diet too…" He mumbled looking back on it, he was rarely allowed to eat anything that wasn't fresh and full of vitamins, minerals or antibiotics; he was only able to sneak out and get a pizza a hot dog or even a burger was when Kevin took him out for fun, he could still remember the first time he had the sweet taste of chocolate ice cream in his mouth as he licked it slowly savoring it all. "She would have killed me if she knew." He said with a laugh putting the book aside and looked at the books on the shelf.

He wonder more now about the Tyrant program, seeing all the stuff in that book made him wonder if he could try something different but then he felt he shouldn't, he didn't want them to know he was smart since he was still thinking about Umbrella but he had to stop thinking and start acting. Umbrella was gone, wiped out with Raccoon City, like his life was.

"Shit…I need to stop thinking!" He complained, every time he thought of the past the more depressed he got. "Read, get your mind off of it, learn and expand your mind, you're behind the times kid." He told himself standing up looking at the books before grabbing one on Virology making him smile. "Grandpa Ozwell gave me a book like this one time, it was so fascinating like on page 209, how it talked about how you can splice a virus with that of DNA." He said smiling before pausing. "I'm losing it…" He said shaking his head before opening the book before rubbing his head. "I always wanted to try and make something with this information.." He said in a whisper grabbing Wesker's journal and opened it before looking through the drawers finding a few blank papers and a black marker making him smile looking at the white board.

In school, Shane excelled in science, biology and sometimes math, he didn't put his all into his school work to hide his intelligence so to not raise questions and now he could try and do something combining all that he had learned into something more. He fought hard trying to keep his mind from wandering to Umbrella, that was the only reason he didn't get far cause of the fear Sofia instilled in him about them being hunted like wild animals. He frowned thinking how many times they had moved before finally stopping in a small town in Pennsylvania. Making friends in that small country town was hard at first and he made them by helping them out.

Everything was going great till his birthday came up, coming home to find Sofia on the floor dead, her dead eyes looking right at him. A tear soon escaped his one of his eyes hitting the book as he quickly wiped his face, he could still remember that day…

(Part 2 of ch10)

430 Peach Run, Fulton County, Pennsylvania - 4 years after Raccoon City - 3:30 PM EST

Shane laughed as he looked at his four friends, he couldn't help but take Paul's hat and put it on his own head before telling another joke, he loved being with his four best friends, each one from a different ethnics and like him, different. Though he hated being alone and even being with others, a lone wolf, he found comfort with four others, for he found that sometimes they too were victims of bullies but together, no one bothered them that much.

Shane didn't like being alone, but what else was he going to do with the bullies at his throat all the time? He needed companions, even if they were temporary. He hardly ever spoke about what happened in his life, only that of what Sofia told him to say. That he once lived in Raccoon City and moved, nothing about the zombies, his wounds, the deaths, nothing. He hated it, it hurt more thinking of Heather. But he had to move on thinking about his new temporary friends.

Paul Nathan was half white and African-American but was an amazing football player, his toughness made him the best of the defense and he had a very tender heart which helped Shane learn how to make girls like him course he was the tallest of the five of them making Shane feel short at times but not like Matthew.

Kyle Chow, he was Chinese but had a mouth on him when provoked but he was the president of the chess club and the kid knew how to make the best homemade noodles in town and the best meals. Shane often found himself going over to Kyle's for dinner with Sofia cause of the healthy foods his family cooked.

Nathan Wallace, now this kid was something that Shane enjoyed, he was a Scot and Irish descendant with a mixture of the two accents. He would often time teach Shane how to box or wrestle but he was always the stronger plus he was the oldest and the first to have a drivers license. Shane looked up to him as an older brother.

And finally there was little Matthew Morgan, the kid was the shortest of them all but was an amazing skateboarder there was in town, he was pure blood New Yorker till his folks moved down here to get away from city living but that didn't stop him from skateboarding all around town, teaching Shane in the process how to skateboard which didn't turn out too well.

Kyle had left moments later after they settled down near the parking lot of the high school, the day of learning was done and they crew were hungry so Kyle went to get some food for them leaving the others to relax and plan for the rest of the day.

"Yo Shane, when's the party?" Matthew asked sitting on the steps moving his skateboard around under his foot looking at Shane leaning against the tree next to the steps looking at his biology book. "Shane?" He asked again grabbing a pebble and threw it hitting Shane on the head making him look up.

"What? Oh…Um…I think at 5 tonight." He replied burying his face back into his book as Paul chuckled hanging now upside down on a branch above Shane making him look up at the guy. "What?"

"You are such a dork." He said laughing dropping his hat on Shane's head. "Every place we go your face is buried in books, mostly stuff we aren't good with!"

"Yeah! Like that one your constantly reading about, that virology book you said you got from your grandpap." Nathan said on the other side of the tree peeking around, his red hair really stood out compared to his blonde goatee. "How you managed to keep it that long since Raccoon is beyond me."

"My mom held onto it." Shane replied smelling Chinese food making everyone look to see Kyle on his bike riding over through the parking lot, the basket on the back holding a large thermal bag. "Yes!" Shane shouted closing the book as Kyle parked the bike.

"Who want's Chinese?" He asked as they laughed, once everyone was given their dishes Kyle started telling jokes and some wise cracks before making a silly face using his chopsticks. "Shane, you wouldn't mind helping me out with the science fair project would you?"

"What you going to do?" Shane replied slurping up a long noodle as it slapped his chin and then nose making him smile as Kyle told about condensation. "That's fairly easy to do, you would need a fish tank, sand, a sheet of plastic, a cup, a stone and a lamp." He said nodding. "It's pretty easy to do. First you do…."

After studying…A two hours later...

Wesker came back into the room seeing new formulas written on the white board and Shane sleeping resting his head on his arm on the table holding a black marker, the books and tablets that was there were open and showing the works of Umbrella. A smile crossed his face seeing that and soon heard Shane mumbling something, sounded like he was trying to explain something. The formulas writing on the board were for a Tyrant program, Wesker recognized it as his work but Shane did some changes to it making him wonder more before hearing Shane cough and sniffle before mumbling.

"…and then you add the plastic…" Shane mumbled making Wesker look at him before looking at the formula on the white board before hearing Shane cough again. "Ugh… I gotta stop sleeping like this." He grumbled slowly sitting up straight and stretched while yawning, never even noticing Wesker was there. Wesker watched him surprised he didn't notice him, even when he got up to get onto the bed.

"Must be exhausted." Wesker thought watching Shane lay on his side, sideways once again on the bed, going back to sleep. "What was he reading?" He wondered looking at the books soon spotting one on the corner of the desk that had another book laying on it, upon further investigation he discovered that Shane found the page talking about Hunters. "This will be an interesting night." Wesker whispered looking at Shane.

153 Pleasant Hill Road - Fulton County, Pennsylvania - 4 Years After Raccoon City - 4:55 PM EST

"Listen, I'm telling ya, that you'll love the cake she makes." Shane said adjusting his backpack as they walked the streets with his friends as Matthew skated past. "The strawberries she adds are always so fresh." He added as Matthew skated past again. "Will you knock that off?" He asked as Matthew came up again.

"You're just jealous cause I can skate." Matthew said picking his skateboard up before looking to the other side of the road. "Besides, I think that guy is following us." He said with a head gesture as the group stopped and looked at the man, he was wearing a black trench coat, sunglasses, a black wool hat and had black hair on his head and face.

"Looks like a old fisherman or a Navy man." Paul said moving on. "He might be drunk so let's keep going." He said as the rest followed with Shane looking back curious but ran ahead of the group continuing to talk about the cake. "So your mom makes all of it from scratch?" Paul asked as Shane nodded. "Wow."

"She makes all our meals from scratch, says that I need a good diet." Shane said as they neared his home, once again he shifted his backpack as he remembered the lizard creature from Raccoon City tearing his backpack then off his back making him shiver as he slipped the key into the lock. "Hey mom, I brought my fri--." Shane stopped in mid sentence as the door fully opened as the keys fell out of his hand, his eyes locked onto the being on the floor in a pool of blood.

"Shane?" Nathan said looking in gasping seeing Sofia on the floor before pushing his way inside checking her for a pulse. "She…she…she's dead.." He said hearing movement in the house but didn't think about it as Paul quickly pull Shane out of the house and called 911 on one of their cell phones.

It was less than ten minutes that the police and medical crew arrive at the house, Shane was sitting on the side walk as a crowd started to gather as he shook his head as a cop started to talk to him, but he couldn't think right and he couldn't get her face out of his mind, she was looking right at him when he opened the door. Nathan started to tell them what happened when they arrived and when he mentioned hearing footsteps in the house Shane knew instantly who was behind it, hoping for so long they had forgotten about Sofia and himself.

"Not again.." He said shaking his head before getting up and took off in a run down the street making the cops shout at him but he was so fast and so far gone that he wasn't going to stop, not now. He nearly stumbled going down the hill frantically pulling his truck keys out of his pocket before fumbling to the ground dropping them. "Come on!" He snapped at himself grabbing them as he sprinted toward a red truck, he wasn't allowed to park it at the house since he was still learning to drive. After unlocking it and jumping inside Shane couldn't help but wipe his face free of falling tears, ever since Raccoon City, he had a hard time trying not to cry when thinking of the things that had happened to him and now this.

Shane sniffled as he started the truck and pulled out heading toward the highway just ten miles out of town, he was shaking and trying hard to focus on the road as his free leg shook as he followed the road not noticing the black SUV coming up behind him fast. The first hit knocked Shane forward making him look in the review mirror, thankfully the seatbelt kept him from hitting head against the steering wheel making him look at the side mirror as the SUV hit him again causing him to swerve. Panic filled him now as they neared the bridge making him try and keep the truck going and avoid being hit again but the third hit counted, one of the back tires of the truck blew out startling him as he tried to keep the truck straight, even when he tried to slow down the SUV fishtailed him making him turn sideways as the right side of the front end of the truck hit the railing of the bridge turning the truck sharply whipping Shane's head to the side and then toward the other hitting it hard on the window cracking it before something hit the truck head on knocking him forward hitting the steering wheel as the truck tumbled down the hill into the cold river below.

Shane was knocked out from the blows his head sustained and the more his truck sank into the water, the more the cab filled with water and soon it was over his head, each breath he took the more he was dying.

Up on the road people had stopped to watch, few screaming someone should help whoever was in the truck, the man in the black Navy attire hurried over watching the truck sinking more and more into the cold river, with haste he took off his coat and hat while carefully running down the bank before jumping into the water, the coldness sending spiking signals through his body demanding him to leave at once, but the boy needed saving. The truck had settled at the bottom of the river by the time he got there, breaking the window was easy since it was already damaged but he quickly went back to the surface coughing and took another deep breath before diving back down, his body already stiffening his movements as he pulled himself part way inside to get the seat belt off, the blood in the water made it hard to see but the current was pushing it away as he started to pull Shane out.

Breaking the surface was inviting as the man caught his breath as he pulled Shane to shore, other people had gathered there at the bank to help, Shane was laid on the shore as the man checked him while coughing, a few of the folks couldn't believe he managed to keep his sunglasses on.

"He's not breathing." Someone said as Shane's chin was lifted as a few breaths were forced into him and soon compressions against his chest. "I hope the ambulance arrives soon."

Again another breath was forced into Shane's lung as the man continued to do CPR, one of the women was already holding her hands to her face trying not to panic if Shane didn't cough. The man kept going even as the ambulance arrived, as he was pushing more air into Shane's lung the boy coughed as his lungs tried to get out as much water as possible as he gagged for breath making everyone sigh in relief as he opened his blue eyes, he wasn't all there as the medics got to him checking him as one gave the man that saved him a blanket leading him up to the ambulances as Shane was carried up and placed into the ambulance as it took off…

-(Part 3 of ch10)

1:20 AM

Shane sat on the floor trying to stay awake. He slapped himself in the face to wake himself up more since he didn't want to sleep, he had another nightmare and it scared him greatly making him feel his back over and over checking to see if there was any blood, any dangling flesh or muscle. Those yellow reptile eyes and inhuman screeching howl seemed to haunt him whenever he shut his eyes. Shane had been reading one of those Umbrella books and was horrified when a chapter of it showed a picture of the same type of Hunter that attacked him, reviving that memory and the pain. Slowly he pulled his legs up against his chest wrapping his arms around them laying his chin on his knees as he rocked.

Wesker watched him from behind the mirror, observing him but he felt something and he didn't like these feelings he was developing for Shane, parental feelings. Ever since he read Shane's file and learning what happened to him using the subliminal audio, he was starting to feel sorry for him wondering now himself, what he would have done if he knew about Shane long ago in Raccoon City .

Would he have killed him? Taken him in? Would he still be the same as he is today or different? So many questions flooded into his mind and he had to push them aside watching Shane struggling to stay awake rocking slowly before finally falling onto his side sleeping once again. The medication was helping him heal as was sleep; he had to keep putting sleeping medicine into Shane's food to make him sleep considering he was still not healed from the procedure. But there was one thing he needed to know from Shane besides what was in his past.

Who was in that room Shane was taken to and those who took him? That Russian provided little information and died holding his secrets making Wesker agitated, Shane was the only one that could give him information about who was there. He was certain Nicolai was there but who the others were he had to find out, but why didn't the other guards, orderlies or even the cameras catch anything suspicious, this agitated him greatly forcing him to make a fist as his eyes glowed slightly, something was going on behind his back and to his only child, his prodigy, the prince of his coming new world.

Shane was able to withstand Uroboros; Wesker saw that after collecting some blood samples from Shane while he slept, the two fused perfectly together like his blood did. A doctor came into the room drawing his attention for a second holding out his hand as he was given a lab result and the doctor soon left. Wesker raised a brow reading the latest lab results, Shane's blood accepted Wesker's virus which wasn't much of a surprise but it was elating to know he was going to be able to accept it. Soon his gaze soon fell into the room seeing Shane sitting up again trying hard to stay awake. There was so much potential in the boy yet he needed to be stronger, stronger than he could imagine before smirking checking his PDA/phone seeing a live feed of the vest being put together for Shane to wear during their training.

"This sucks!" Shane snapped drawing Wesker attention to the room seeing him hit the floor. "One lousy picture and I have nightmares." Shane growled getting up looking at the mirror before hitting it with his fist soon hitting it again before coughing holding his chest. "Argh, come on, this has got to stop." He said turning around leaning against the mirror sliding down to the floor. "It's dead, gone, but why am I still coughing and hurting? It's been a few days since the procedure…"

"That's what I'm wondering." Wesker said crumbling the paper up tossing it into a trash bin before leaving the room soon entering Shane's room drawing his attention. "How are you doing?"

"I feel like crap." Shane said as Wesker looked at him before kneeling and staring him straight in the face. "What?"

"Hold still." Wesker said grabbing Shane's face pulling a pen-light from his pocket checking Shane's eyes out raising a brow. "You're coughing must be from the damage the plauga did inside you." He said putting his pen-light away. "This is puzzling. You show no signs of it being in your system and the results have come back clean and yet this cough persists."

"You really think it might be from it, just suffering from what it did to me?" Shane asked as Wesker nodded as Shane asked, "How long will it take till it goes away?"

"With you taking your pills, it should clear up in a few more days with proper resting, meaning no extensive and strenuous exercises." He said as Shane sighed. "I mean it Shane, the last thing you need is to be coughing up blood." He told standing up pulling Shane up in the process. "Now go to bed and don't worry about your dreams, you're safe here." He said nudging Shane toward the bed before heading to the doorway soon watching Shane sit on the bed. "Get some rest, I'll be back to check on you in the afternoon." He said as Shane nodded as the door closed. Wesker turned and swiped his key card into the reader watching the red light blink on as the door locked, only he and Excella had access to Shane's room, and only one knew the code and that was the one that brings Shane his food.

There were a lot of questions going through his mind now; Wesker had a hard time concentrating with the morning errands he had planned and the daily check up on his main plans. Shane kept nagging at him, but he knew the boy was strong and can handle himself but at times he was still a child who was longing for comfort from someone. Excella had been talking to him about something but he didn't hear it all, only telling her to go see Shane and talk to him, which, even to Excella, was surprising considering Shane was still listening to the subliminal audio to help him get used to her. Was this going to be a test to see if it worked?

Excella agreed to go see the boy, but she was cautious in doing so. When she stood at his door she had to take a deep breath before swiping her card and opened the door finding him sitting on the couch looking at an old book. When Excella looked down at him she saw nothing threatening, just a lonely young man who needed attention.

"What do you want?" Shane asked not even looking up from his book. He was trying hard not to think about Sofia , how she reacted when she found out what the Hunter did to him, her tight hugs always made him feel better.

Excella said softly, "Albert, your father, wanted me to check on you." She looked around his room noting nothing was out of place and her gaze soon fell to the desk seeing the laptop was still there and blinking showing it was on. "I wonder why Albert left this in here--!" She was startled feeling arms around her body and a body pressed against hers. "S-Shane?" She asked feeling his head against the back of her neck. "Something wrong?" She asked patting his arms around her body feeling him shake his head soon feeling his tears on her skin making her shiver and get goose bumps.

"Sorry..." Shane said letting go quickly wiping his face as she turned around looking at him holding her arms out some, a gesture for a hug and Shane took it without hesitation crying against her neck again. "I miss her." He said weeping as Excella patted him on the back and kissed his neck savoring it while blushing. "I miss my mom." He said trying not to sob.

"Shhh, you're going to be okay Shane." She said gently and soothingly as possible, smiling all the more at the work of the subliminal audio having worked so quickly on the boy. "She's always here; she had you and made you a strong handsome young man." She said squeezing him some. "There, there, I'm here for you, shhh." She said smiling wider as he hugged her more. As Shane held on to her, Excella started lightly scratching his back. "Shhh, I'm here for you." She repeated as his crying slowed. "If you need anything from me just ask darling." She whispered as he nodded before sitting down on the couch with him.

It was a few minutes of silence after the weeping stopped before Excella stood up having comforted Shane. She had listened to the desperation in his voice and understood what was wrong with him but she knew she needed to get going otherwise Wesker would get suspicious. Shane looked at her pleadingly as she turned around to say something. Excella froze when she looked back at him. She hadn't expected him to become this needy let alone friendly towards her.

"Please stay with me." Shane said holding her around the waist pulling her back down to sit. Excella was surprised when Shane bent down and nuzzled his head into her lap, the back of his head snuggled against her firm stomach as he held onto her waist like a needy child.

Gently she stroked his head like he was a cat, he never moved an inch holding onto her not wanting her to go just yet and deep down she realized she was enjoying the attention he was giving to her. Looking down at Shane, Excella saw he was falling asleep. Before she could stop herself she bent her head down and kissed his cheek. Shane smiled as he fell drifted to sleep while she continued to stroke his head.

Excella managed to get out from under him. Shane stirred a bit but didn't awaken as she carefully laid him onto his back and shut the lights out before she left the room without making a sound. Excella rounded a corner into the room hidden behind the mirror. She reached into her purse and pulled her PDA/phone out, snapped it open and entered in some code that brought a hidden feature up on its display.

Excella smiled as she entered the mirror room, pulled a cord out of the phone and plugged it into a tiny jack in the side of the camera. As she typed in a final command the phone hacked into the camera feed as it started playing another time Shane was asleep on the couch lying on his back with the lights out. The time code in the corner of the video feed now matched the time and date of that day instead of the original night she recorded him. Seeing her little toy was working she smiled gleefully and headed back to Shane's room. She turned the lights back on and placed his head back. He mumbled something she didn't understand under his breath as his head nestled into her warm lap. When he would wake up later he never knew she had left.

Shane stirred slightly when the door opened a few minutes later. A man wheeled in a food trolley which made Excella smile. A bottle of expensive Italian wine sat in a large silver bucket filled with ice. Two large wine glasses sat next to it covered in napkins along with a small covered bowl that was filled with grapes and other small fruits. Excella spoke softly, "What perfect timing. Thank you that will be all."

Once the man left she watched the shut door for a minute before gently stroking the hair on Shane's head. She patted his cheek gently waking him up. Shane sat up wiping his eyes and was surprised to see the bowl of fresh fruit and the large green bottle. Excella stood up and sashayed towards the door, locking it before turning back towards the trolley.

Excella walked over and placed her hands on either side of the wine bottles long neck and rubbed it inside the bucket making the melting ice slosh around. She then lifted the bottle out with one hand and placed it on a tray on the trolley. She picked up a corkscrew and with a few turns uncorked the bottle with a loud pop. She smelled the cork and smiled and then handed it to Shane to smell.

Shane took it hesitantly, smelled it and made a sour expression, "What is this?" he asked curiously as she poured the reddish purple liquid into two wine glasses. Excella handed him a glass which he took after handing her the cork back.

Excella smiled, "Its wine darling. I thought you would like to celebrate your freedom in grand style."

Shane smelled the wine in his glass wrinkling his nose at the smell. "With wine?" He asked incredulously.

Excella finished taking a small sip and then she nodded, "Yes." As she sat down next to him.

Shane looked back down at the full glass, "I can't drink this stuff..."

Excella placed her hand on his shoulder, "You eat grapes, yes?" She said moving her arm slowly to his back rubbing it in small circles.

Shane looked at her strangely," Yeah, I love grapes but…"

Excella interrupted, "But nothing darling! This is just grape juice with a little pep to it." With that Excella gently clanked her glass off Shane's and said, "A toast to freedom!" She took a large sip while Shane looked at his glass for a second and then took a sip gagging in the process. "You have to drink more than that darling." She said turning to the side as he took another long sip. Excella pulled out her phone pressing a few keys. In the mirror room a small red light flicked on, recording what was going on into Excella's personal laptop into an encrypted file.

Shane didn't gag this time but his mouth and throat felt funny from the wine. As he finished his glass, Excella smiled drinking hers slowly watching him shake his head a little and fumbling to put his glass back on the trolley. Just as she suspected the poor boy was a light weight when it came to alcohol.

"I feel…strange… happy but still kind of weird." Shane said shaking his head again as she smiled setting her glass down placing a hand around his chin making him to look at her, his eyes were glazed slightly from the drink. "Is this…normal?" He asked as she pulled him close pressing her full lips to his. Shane was surprised by this but something in him took over and he started to kiss her back. He shut his eyes and got lost in the wet hotness of their lips and breath mingling together. When he parted his mouth slightly to kiss her again he felt her wine soaked tongue dart into his mouth dancing with his.

(part 4 of ch10, WARNING! NUDITY! Must be 18 or older!)

Excella's heart was pounding. The boy was out of practice as a kisser but he would get better soon enough. Excella pressed her hands on his shoulders and made him lean and then slump backwards onto the couch. Their kissing was deep and passionate now as she ran her hands over his chest feeling his pectoral muscles and nipples stiffen under her massaging.

Shane's right hand was behind her head and slowly worked down her neck towards the front of her collar bone. He hesitated and Excella grabbed his hand and put it directly on her heaving pendulous left breast. He felt her nipple get hard under his palm and he squeezed it and felt the only thing holding it back was the sheer material of her dress.

Excella broke their kiss for a moment and smiled at Shane as she sat up and straddled him. Grabbing the straps on her dress she slowly pulled them off each shoulder and down her arms letting her boobs fall free from the material as she slid it down to her navel. Shane ran his hands up her hips and ribs before grabbing one in each hand. As he massaged them with his fingers Excella bit her lower lip and smiled letting out a soft purring sound as she grabbed the bottom of his shirt and pulled it off over his head interrupting the kneading of her flesh for a second.

Leaning back down Excella shoved her double D breasts into his face letting Shane kiss and suck her nipples. As he did that Excella ran her nails down his chest. Reaching between her legs she ran her hand over the hardness pressing against his shorts. Shane let out a muffled sound of surprise which sent a tickle through her right boob that made her giggle. Excella brought her hand back up and slid herself down again and French kissed Shane. As she did she grinded her crotch against his and felt his throbbing member straining against the material of his shorts and her panties.

Excella started to slide her body down Shane's and kissed her way down his neck and chest. Shane tried to pull her back up to keep kissing her but she stopped him, "Relax darling, relax…lay back down." Shane complied and laid back with his head propped up on a thick throw pillow, all of this reminded him and Heather so long ago, when they were first learning how to work each other.

Excella kissed and licked down his abdomen, his breathing making his muscles tighten and relax in an excited rhythm. Her hands found his shorts and underwear elastic bands and pulled them down. Shane lifted his legs slightly so she could get both articles of clothing off of him with ease.

After throwing them on the floor Excella stripped out of her dress and panties completely and then got on her knees beside the couch. She grabbed Shane's erection in her right hand and slowly began pumping it as she went back to kissing his stomach. Shane tilted his head back and let out a soft moan as her grip tightened and her stroking became a little faster.

Excella ran her tongue down the middle of his body until she reached the base of his shaft. She slowly licked her tongue up the throbbing tower of flesh feeling every ripple and vein underneath the silky skin until she reached the base of the swollen pink head. Swirling her tongue around it she slid her mouth down the tip as her left hand slid down the shaft and found his balls. She gently held and rubbed them as her head slowly bobbed up and down on the upper half of his erection while her right hand worked itself up and down on his shaft.

Excella could feel every heartbeat pulse through him as she slid the head of his dick down her throat. Shane let out a moan as he felt himself slide in and out of her wet mouth, her tongue tickling his member as she sucked it. It had been so long he forgot how great this felt. Excella worked her right hand faster on his slick shaft as she sucked deep and hard on the head. Shane couldn't help but smile remembering when Heather did this to him, Biology class making them ever more curious about each others members.

After a minute of this Shane couldn't hold back anymore and he let out a loud groan as his abs and balls tightened up and his cum erupted into Excella's throat. She took a deep breath through her nose and kept jerking him off as she swallowed. When it finally stopped Excella pulled her mouth off of his cock and smiled at him. Shane was sweating and his face was beat red.

He looked down at her and said," Oh… oh God I'm sorry. I'm so sorry I couldn't hold back… I should have warned you"

Excella giggled, "Oh sexy boy you don't have to be sorry, I wanted you to do that." Shane seemed surprised and a little bit relived by this. Excella continued to stroke him slowly; his erection throbbed but showed no signs of deflating. She reached into her nearby pocketbook with her free hand and pulled out a condom and ripped it open with her teeth. Shane's eyes grew wide as she said, "Now when you have proper sex with me you will last so much longer." With that she put the condom on Shane's cock making him watch, he couldn't help but think of how he and Heather were that close to having sex, every time he would put a condom on, her parents would come home making him flee out the window or get dress quickly.

Excella soon straddled him drawing him out of his thoughts and slowly lowered herself onto his pulsing cock. She let out a small groan of satisfaction as she bit her lower lip again. Shane grabbed the sides of her hips and thrust slowly to meet her. Excella giggled and then put her full weight on Shane and started grinding up and down on him and he thrust in rhythm to her grinding.

Excella moaned and grabbed her own breasts, pushing them up and pinching her nipples between her thumbs and forefingers. Shane started thrusting harder and harder as Excella's breathing and moans became more rapid. She bent down and started moaning into Shane's shoulder as she clasped her mouth around it. His hands worked their way around to her ass, grabbing it on both sides and pulling her down to meet his thrusts. Excella was practically screaming as her orgasm broke like a dam over Shane's dick and balls. He kept thrusting and after a moment Excella came again, her whole body rattling from her muscles violent contractions. Shane couldn't hold out any longer and he exploded inside the condom. His body shuddered as he gritted his teeth and came hard. Excella collapsed on top of his sweaty body and they both laid there panting.

Shane felt exhausted as Excella slid off of him. He barely moved as she pulled the used condom off of his deflating member and took it into the bathroom along with the rest of her clothes. Shane heard the toilet flush followed by several minutes of is sink's water running. He finally managed to sit up on the couch and ran his fingers through his matted down hair.

Sweat beaded and cooled down his back and he could still smell her on him. Inside the bathroom he heard gargling followed by another toilet flush. Excella came out dressed, her hair and make-up done and looking none the worse for wear except a slight wobble when she walked.

She went over to Shane and kissed him deeply. He could taste the mouthwash on her tongue before she pulled away again. "I have to go now darling. I hope you enjoyed your celebration! Don't worry I will take care of all this." She waved her hand dismissively at the trolley. She took the wine glasses and bottle and put them back on the cart and handed the bowl of fruit to Shane. "Here darling, this will help you keep your strength up. Now get some rest, you earned it." Before Shane could say anything Excella held up her hand, "Now I want you to remember, what we did here today was between us. Do not tell anyone, especially Albert what happened. You must promise me this."

Shane looked confused for a second but then nodded, "Okay I promise but I don't think I would have told him anyway…"

Excella smiled, "Excellent darling, excellent. Now keep in mind, if you're a good boy and you can keep this secret we can do this again every time Albert is out on business."

With that Excella winked at Shane and walked briskly out of the door with the trolley. Shane shook his head in disbelief and then a huge smile played across his face, "Oh my God… I'm not a virgin anymore!" With that he jumped off the couch and started cheering and dancing around in front of the mirror celebrating.

Behind the mirror Excella smiled at her new plaything. She waited until he showered, turned the lights out and went to sleep before she put the regular camera feed back on and left the room smiling.

-Chapter 11

Next day…

Shane laid on the floor staring up at the ceiling, he had a hard time thinking now as much as he was before, he couldn't leave the room until Wesker saw he was well enough, hell, strong enough. The procedure really did a number on his chest and it made him mad cause he couldn't go out and explore, instead he was trapped once again in a room but this time he had things to keep himself busy.

He could barely remember what he did last night, he knew it was something bad considering he ended up vomiting into the toilet for a good ten minutes. But he was more surprised considering he hadn't coughed at all so far, it felt like he was finally healed but alas he was still stuck in this room.

Slowly his gaze fell to the only window in the room making him sit up slowly looking at it. He never gave thought of taking a look outside but the window was high up making him look about the room smiling. He needed to move a few things around to make himself a make shift ladder. The first thing he did was clear the study desk clean setting a few of the things on the floor or on the couch before pulling it struggling to get it to budge before it finally moved allowing him to get on the other end and push grunting in the process.

He didn't think the desk was that heavy and once he was under the window he looked at it and then at the chair bring it over hefting it up onto the desk before looking once again calculating before nodding climbing up. He was an inch shorter than Wesker and that was how far he need to go, his fingers latched onto the frame allowing him to pull up, the light outside blinded him slightly as his eyes tried to focus, it had been too long since they were exposed to sunshine making it hurt to see whatever was out there. He could only see very little since his eyes were stinging from the sunlight.

"What are you doing?" Wesker asked standing in the room startling Shane greatly making him slip from the window which caused the chair under his feet to tilt which resulted having him fall onto the bed back first.

"Damn it! Do you have to keep doing that?!" Shane snapped looking at him hearing the chair fall onto the floor. "What is your problem sneaking up on me? You know I hate it!" He growled sitting up looking at the chair and then at Wesker. "Don't even laugh or I'll kick your ass."

"Kick my ass? Really?" Wesker asked with a chuckle watching Shane get off the bed quickly before coming over.

"Damn right." He growled. "Ever since I got here you're like a frickin' stalker!" He shaking his fists at Wesker. "And I hate it!"

"It's cause I'm concern for my only son." Wesker replied calmly seeing Shane leg's tensing, he knew then Shane was serious about fighting, but there would come another time for their fighting to become serious.

"Is this how you treat your son? Like an animal?!" Shane growled soon launching himself throwing a punch which only grazed Wesker's chin slightly before he threw the second missing entirely making him more angry throwing a kick as Wesker grabbed his leg startling him, none of the orderlies or even the guards were that fast, when Wesker applied a twist on his foot he instantly gasped. "Stop!" He said looking at Wesker hoping on his other foot to remain standing until he dropped kicking his free leg hard against Wesker's gut which made him let go of the other leg instantly as Shane quickly recovered holding up his fists watching Wesker recover slightly from the kick, he never expected Shane to do that let alone be able to but he had to consider as many reports were filed about Shane, he had nine years of practice after all.

"You've gotten slightly better since you first started fighting." Wesker said as Shane charged him again but the throws and kicks were easily avoidable. "You must tell me how you broke that orderlies arm." He said moving to the side as Shane hit the wall with a fist making him shout pulling his hand back.

"Why should I tell you?" Shane said shaking his hand looking at Wesker trying to hit him again but Wesker grabbed his arm and twisted it around pressing his elbow against Shane's. "No! Don't!" He begged.

"Is this how you did it?" Wesker asked pushing slightly making Shane cringe before nodding. "After you did that…" Wesker said pulling Shane along pressing his arm against the edge of the desk. "…you then snapped the forearm against the corner of something. Am I right thus far?" He asked as Shane nodded again. "Interesting, let's see how well it worked." He said raising his elbow up bringing it down fast as Shane started to shout but he didn't make contact and left him go, once free Shane held his arm shaking greatly while looking it over. "Don't try this again Shane, or I will break your arm." Wesker said as Shane looked at him scared. "Do I make myself clear?"

"Yes…dad…." Shane replied looking away as Wesker looked at him again, he never heard Shane call him that before, why was he doing it now? He always called him 'Sir' or 'Boss', was the boy starting to come around?

Two hours after the accident - Fredrick Hospital - 4 Years after Raccoon City

Shane slowly opened his eyes hearing a voice speaking loudly before it fell silent, a thick haze was upon his eyes making anything within sight nothing but a blur of colors and odd shapes. More sounds came into his ears, a beeping sound that was in rhythm with his heart. Compressions that matched that of his own breathing. He tried to move to find he could barely do so as his vision pulsed making his eyes ache, he couldn't understand where he was or let alone what happened, the last thing he remembered was Sofia looking at him from the floor in a pool of blood.

Shane shut his eyes seeing that in his mind, she was dead, his mother, the only thing he had left that was family, was gone, murdered. His lips quivered as he kept thinking about her, living without her was something he never wished to happened but now the cards were dealt and she drew a death card. He was alone, hurt and some place he didn't know.

That man from before was standing at the doorway looking in at him, Shane wouldn't be able to see him anyway since his vision was bad. A nurse eventually came in to check on the boy who had tears falling from his eyes and they burned.

"Shane, can you hear me?" The nurse asked looking at him as he opened his eyes and nodded slowly. "Are you able to see me?" She asked as Shane shook his head. "Don't worry, you eyes will clear up once you get enough rest, you took a lot of hits in the accident." She told him as he tried to speak. "You were in a car accident." She told checking his pulse.

A car accident…Shane couldn't remember it and thinking made his head ache and he groaned from it wishing it would stop, the nurse continued to tell him how badly hurt he was, remarkable he didn't have any other injuries besides head trauma, which even to the doctors, was amazing considering the amount of damage his truck took before it went into the river.

Shane wanted to go home and at the same time, he wanted to die. His world was crashing down around him and the only person he could trust was now gone, Kevin was off in Florida, no way he would come all the way up North to see Shane or would he? Shane wanted to cry out but his voice would not come, his body told him to stop this and die but he wanted to live at the same time.

He needed to.

The nurse kept talking to him, but her voice was brushed away from the throbbing pain inside his skull and he accepted the darkness once again as it held him close, death grinning in the shadows ready to take its next victim…

Part 2 of ch11)

Shane was sleeping soundly despite most of the bed he laid upon being messed up from an earlier dream he had about the asylum but unlike most of his nightmares it left just as fast as it came to him. His mind slipped into a wonderful dream of the present and his feeling of freedom when a thunderous boom that rattled his room startled him awake. Shane's heart was threatening to jump out of his chest as he sat bolt upright looking around the room. A bright flash of bluish white light flickered outside his window and more loud rumbles echoed through the sky.

It took Shane a moment to figure out what was going on as his eyes fixed on the clock near the bed, it only read 11:23 PM making him groan before seeing the window light up and another loud rumble of thunder followed. Slowly he got off the bed and looked at the desk and groaned, he didn't want to push it back over to where the window was but the bookshelf looked promising. As he got up stretching the room lit up again making Shane wince from the bright lightning flashing from outside as another peel of thunder followed.

"Ugh, fucking thunder storm." Shane grumbled to himself as he blinked spots from his eyes while scratching his back. As he approached the bookshelf Shane looked it over and then at the window smiling in satisfaction that it was tall enough. Carefully he carried the books and tablets from it to the couch till it was cleaned off and with some minor grunting he lifted the bookshelf and carried it to the window before setting it down again. He looked it over and slowly pulled it out toward the bed making it lean against the wall making it easier to climb without the chance of falling. He smiled and climbed up gazing out of the window into the darkness as lighting flashed revealing for a split second trees and water, another flash showed him a catwalk and another showed a man stationed at the end of the catwalk.

The rumble rocked the place making him smile. Shane squinted watching the light show but to his surprised there was no rain yet which puzzled him greatly. As he leaned against the window Shane noticed a latch, his fingers glided over it as he pulled it up and the window opened with ease. Pushing the window out as it opened and warm fresh rain scented air greeted him. Shane closed his eyes and breathed it in deeply as a sharp breeze brushed against his face moving the hair out of his eyes as lighting flashed and thunder followed making him smile.

Shane leaned out of the window slowly before looking down below the window sill. Lighting flashes illuminated the entire ground below him and he saw he could land on the catwalk easily if he had rope or something. Shane pulled his head back inside and looked at his bed. All the sheets would be easy to tie together to make a makeshift rope like he remembered seeing in some old movies. Shane once tried to unlock the door with a makeshift picking tool he fashioned out of two paperclips but he failed utterly in unlocking the door. But this new plan, this was going to be the best way to do it. Silently at night and any noises he made would be covered up by the thunder.

As late as it was, they weren't going to check on him which made Shane grin as he jumped down onto the bed grabbing the sheets, twirling and wrapping them tightly before tying a note every foot on each sheet and tied them together with a hangman's knot on the one end leaving a large loop. Shane dropped the loop near the leg of the heavy oak desk. He strained with all his might to tip the desk up just enough to kick the noose loop under the rear leg and then dropped the desk as lightning and thunder went off outside.

Grabbing all the books he had taken off the shelf Shane piled them on top of the desk to anchor the heavy piece of furniture even more. Shane grabbed the hangman's knot and pulled it tight around the small knobby leg of the desk. Standing up Shane leaned and then pulled the rope as hard as he could with all his weight on it and the desk did not budge.

Satisfied that the rope could support his weight, Shane again climbed up the empty shelf with his makeshift rope and tossed it down outside the window, he pulled on it to make sure it was safe once more before climbing into the window legs first, inching his way out slowly while gripping a knot tied into the rope. He slid his legs down the rope finding another knot with his feet as he climbed down slowly. Once his feet touched the cold metal he smiled feeling it as the air around him hugged him, his first taste of being outside making him smile greatly as he took in long deep breaths of fresh air which made him so happy he squeaked.

Shane was outside and no one was going to stop him from exploring and maybe, just maybe, he would be able to escape to explore the world outside this place. But he had to be cautious since he saw a guard and knew there would have to be more somewhere. As long as the lightning kept up he would be at a disadvantage. Not only because of his eyes sensitivity to the light but it also gave shined a spotlight on him every few minutes.

Carefully Shane walked forward toward the guard who had his back to him, he needed to take him out in order to explore, he was going to have to get rough with the guards here and if he was spotted now he would end up back in his room. And knowing Wesker, he might get an hour long lecture of the dangers of going out while still healing but he also had to take note he hadn't coughed for a while now which was surprising to Shane.

Shane ducked when lighting flashed again and he cringed slightly when thunder rumbled close by overhead. The guard was unfazed by it making him more confused but it was now or never, he waited till the next flash before doing a full sprint tackling the guard hard knocking him down onto the catwalk in a violent skid. Before he could make a sound Shane bashed his head against the catwalk as thunder and lightning erupted again overhead. He waited for a response from the guard but the man was knocked out cold.

Shane checked the guard's pulse to make sure he didn't kill him. Finding it to be steady and calm, Shane sighed a quiet, "Sorry…" before taking the beret off the man's head and putting it on along with his camouflage jacket. It was bulky on him but in the darkness he could probably pass for a guard. Tossing his radio off into the darkness Shane took off the man's socks and made a makeshift gag over his mouth and then tied the man's arms behind his back to the catwalk railing. Looking down at the compound trying to see as much as possible before following the catwalk Shane couldn't see anything. The one time he needed the lightning to illuminate his surroundings it failed him.

There were a few stairs ahead of him but before he could creep towards them he stopped when he heard voices and two guards came into view when lighting flashed, he couldn't run without making a sound and if they got a good look at him he never would pass for a guard at this close a distance. Shane looked at the railing before climbing over it and hung onto the bottom of the catwalk as they drew closer; he smiled remembering doing this at Heather's place when he wasn't meant to be there. They were almost to him when he smelled cigarette smoke making him cough into his arm to muffle the noise. He hung suspended from the catwalk and held his breath listening to their voices fall silent, Shane cursed in his head as he started to move sideways with his feet against the concrete wall and his hands on the railing moving as slowly and fast as possible. His lungs were demanding him to breath but he didn't want to intake that toxic smell, quickly he buried his face against his right shoulder burying his nose against the fabric as he exhaled and breathed in.

Inching his way away from the guards took longer than he had hoped and the smell of that cigarette really ticked him off since he had to hold his breath most of the time till he finally climbed back onto the catwalk and coughed before spitting cursing lowly as he moved on finally finding the end of the catwalk as lighting flashed revealing the ground it lead to, his feet felt the softness of the soil making him shiver in delight having feeling earth once again, so long had he wished this and now it was granted to him, his toes buried into the dirt as he sat down on the steps before hearing more voices spoiling his time making him move quickly to the side of the steps seeing two guards walking past unfazed by the storm.

Shane bit his lip when he saw the gates lights flicker on shining at the entrance, the guards stationed there hurried to see who was coming, the sounds of the motorbikes triggered a memory in Shane's mind and he knew that sound was dirt bikes. He smiled seeing them and watched as the drivers headed into a nearby building as Shane figured was the garage, if he managed to get one he would be able to escape. The distance from where he was to the garage was going to be tricky and he was going to have to make a strong full sprint through the open, he hated it and took a breath waiting for the lighting, when it came he was off. His feet dug into the earth as his legs tensed greatly putting more force into his run, thunder bellowed loudly making him try and run faster till his body nearly slammed into the metal wall, he panted hard and pressed himself firmly listening to those inside as he moved toward the entrance. His heart thundered in his chest making him pant to catch his breath, it had been so long since he ran that hard, even in the open room his sprinting didn't take this much out of him.

Carefully Shane peeked inside seeing five men, they were talking but like before he didn't understand them, he ducked back when one looked up but stayed put waiting until he heard one of the bikes start up making him smile, may not know how to start them but that didn't mean he could take it from them but that was going to be risky since he wasn't sure if they knew him or not.

"Screw it." He said waiting seeing a light flicker on shining brightly allowing Shane to see the wall of the compound and growled seeing how high it was but turned his attention to the one coming out, once out he rushed grabbing the man by his clothing and jerked back as hard he could pulling the man off the bike as it fumbled to the ground a few feet from them. He kicked the man hard in the face before hurrying to the bike setting it back up just as the others came out wondering what happened and spotted Shane instantly, one shouted while another ran back inside as the spot lights flickered on blinding Shane in the process, trying his best Shane jerked the handle down as it took off fast making him hang on tightly having not ever been on one before. "Crap!" He snapped letting go of the gas as it slowed but the alarm sounded making him curse more, it was now or never.

Part 3 of ch11)

It took him a while to adjust to the bike and managed to get around quickly but with the limit of lighting he was stuck going back and forth in the yard as men tried to catch him making him curse silently before looking at the main gate, the only thing stopping him was ten men and two wooden planks that could easily be avoided if he went right through the center. Most if not all of the spot lights were on him making it hard to see and it hurt his eyes badly as he took a deep breath and revved the bike heading right at the gate, when he got closer he saw the guns level at him making him turn sharply sending dirt into the air hitting the guards with it before circling back around to keep his distance.

"Damn, damn." He growled looking around for another exit, he knew Wesker would be coming and anytime soon, once again he looked around before looking ahead seeing a truck leaving through another gate making him smile, holding the break he gunned the bike before taking a breath letting go of the break, the bike jerked forward and before the bike even went a foot something grabbed him by the collar and jerked him off the back of the still moving bike.

Before he could react Shane felt a strong, leathery arm around his neck making it hard for him to breathe. He struggled but the vice like sleeper hold would not budge, even as his punched and kicked around, the last thing he saw as darkness enveloped his sight was the bike speeding off wildly toward Irving coming who had just came out of the nearby building.

Wesker held Shane in a sleeper hold until the boy stopped struggling and went limp in his arms. "Shane, Shane, Shane…when will you stop these childish games?" It wasn't until Shane was dead weight in Wesker's arms, snoring in a deep sleep that he even heard the screams coming from up ahead.

Ricardo Irving was on the ground screaming holding his leg as two guards ran over to him. A large bloody gash on his thigh underneath his ripped pants leg showed where the front fender of the dirt bike had clipped him.

"Argh! My gawd! My gawd damn leg! Don't just stand there youse guys, get a fucking stretcher!"

The two guards looked at Wesker who nodded, "Take Mister Irving to the infirmary and clean up this mess. I'll tend to the boy myself." Wesker then put Shane over his shoulder in a fireman's carry position and stalked away.

As the men ran off the first fat rain drops of the coming storm started to fall. Irving looked up at the sky cursing, "Aw fer crissake! This shirt is silk! Someone get me an umbrella!" When he looked back down Irving saw that Wesker was gone and the two soldiers were running back to him with a stretcher.

2 days after the accident - Fredrick Hospital - 4 Years after Raccoon City

Shane had slept for those two days as the doctors worked on him to get as much water out of his system as possible, when he awoke, all he could think about was Sofia. He didn't cry as he laid there listening to the machines and the voices of the hospital, he felt so weak and it hurt when he sat up but he needed to, he wanted to.

There was food over his legs, he could smell the potatoes and corn, he reached slowly flinching instantly feeling the IV in his arm tug making him look away lowering that arm and reached with the other pulling the tray closer, once again his head pounded in pain making him hold it feeling thick bandages. He saw images inside his mind of the bridge but that was it. He sighed wanting the pain to stop as he grabbed the juice, it was sweet tasting and he puckered instantly from it. It didn't taste like juice he was use to making him look at the label and soon placed it back down. It wasn't fresh at all, it was made in a plant that added tons of water and sugar.

"Some hospital…" Shane said lowly, his voice strained as he said it and soon looked at the rest of the food. The taste of the potatoes was unpleasant considering that many people in hospital had allergies and it had no taste making him once again push something aside and he ate the corn gagging slightly before finally touching his water. The meal was a disappointment but he needed it, a sigh escaped him as he listened to the machines but jumped slightly as the curtains that surrounded him were ripped open and four men in white clothing came in. They moved quickly, the tray was pulled aside as the blanket was ripped off him making him look at them frightened till one grabbed his arm that had the IV in which they ripped it out making him shout feeling his skin rip, he knew then that they had come for him making him shout out for help even if his voice sounded like a dying horse. "Help!" He shouted again as he struggled being pulled off the bed before having his arms held behind his back feeling zip ties tightening around his wrists, he called out again for help but everyone was ignoring him as he was hefted onto one of the men in white's shoulder.

He didn't understand what was happening but he knew they found him, he kept yelling for help as much as his lungs and voice would let him, once in the elevator he was smacked across the face making him hush for a second before glaring at the one that hit him, he wanted down so badly he started kicking wildly until he felt them grab his legs and restrained them with zip ties. He couldn't believe this was happening to him, when the doors open the men ran with him until they were outside, Shane pleas for help falling on deaf ears, even the regular people just watched on not thinking to help him, his eyes were pleading with them to stop these goons but it was too late when he heard a van door slid open and he was handed to another man inside.

He was laid down on his side as he struggled like a fish out of water until he felt more restraints on his body, thick leather straps tightening to keep him still as a air mask was slipped over his mouth and nose, he wanted to hold his breath but he couldn't hold it forever. The van was off and he was as well…the gas causing him to fade into sleep…dreaming of the day…of his mother's death…

Part 4 of ch11)

Next day…

When Shane woke up this morning, he felt different, the morning routine he did normal until he looked at himself in the mirror finding that his hair was cut short. The more he stared at himself in the mirror the more he saw Wesker, he was really his father's son. By the time he was done in the bathroom, he found fresh clothing on his bed and the door was opened, a single white paper was on the white tank top.

'Wear these clothes, today you get to go outside.'

Even though there was no signature, Shane had a feeling it was Excella considering she was into fashion and those clothes looked high class, regardless he smiled slipping the tank top on and the blue gray pants, a few tears on the right leg was a new fad in this generation even if Shane didn't know it. The gray boots were just his size and he sighed putting them on hating the fact they knew more about him than he wished. There was a studded belt that was hidden under the pants after he put them on, slipping it on he admired himself in the mirror, he was much older now than he was nine years ago and more serious looking as well. He grinned greatly before looking at the bed again wondering if there was anything else he missed which there was. A pair of fingerless black gloves with an open back and a claw necklace on a brown leather cord. Whatever was going on today must be important considering he wasn't going to be wearing his shorts like he would have been.

Once fully dressed Shane walked toward the open door, once again there was another note that was tapped to the outside of it.

'Shane, you're allowed to leave your room only during the daylight hours. You may explore but you must obey my rules.'

He knew who this was from, he sighed and looked around the hallway smiling before closing the door behind him.

Two hours later…

After gaining free access to leave his room during the day by Wesker, Shane explored the place but found he, once again, was limited, guards would block certain spots making him turn around until he finally came across something that made him smile and frown.

Shane looked at the door that would take him outside, he was anxious to go out but he couldn't since he would probably go blind from the bright sunlight. His eyes were still not use to it making him more annoyed than before. The EXIT sign above the door felt like it was taunting him, testing him to see if he would go outside into the open air and sunshine. But no, he couldn't, going outside would be foolish.

"What'ca waiting for kid?" Irving asked walking over with a slight limp, his voice startled Shane out of his thought. "You've been wanting to go out, why aren't'cha?"

"I can't go outside without going blind." He said leaning against the wall. "I haven't been in the sunshine for nine years." He said as Irving laughed making him look at him quickly.

"Sounds like you need some sunglasses, sucks to be you." He said opening the door making Shane cover his eyes quickly from the bright light.

"Close the frick'in door!" He snapped feeling the wind, it felt good brushing against his skin giving him goose bumps, he wanted to continue feeling it, even when the door closed making him look at it before taking his right boot off wedging it between the door and the wall allowing it to be open a little so more wind could come in as he sat down against the wall with his eyes closed. The air smelled fresh even if there was the smell of dirt, he smiled enjoying it even if he couldn't look outside. He could hear Excella coming; she was the only one in the place that wore heels.

"Are you enjoying yourself?" She asked looking down at him.

"Some." He replied holding a hand up to shield his eyes from the light coming from the door as he saw Wesker there with her making him sigh. "What do you two want?"

"We have a gift for you." Excella said holding a small box with a bow on it making him raise a brow. "It's from both of us." She said looking at Wesker with a smile as he kept his gaze on Shane, she soon return hers to Shane and handed him the box, he was hesitant. "Don't worry, you'll love it."

Shane was still not sure and looked at Wesker who nodded to him, as if giving him permission to do so. He took a breath and slipped the bow off before opening it, inside was a pair of sunglasses. They were gold mirrored high grade sunglasses; he remembered seeing pictures of marksmen wearing them. A small smile tugged at the sides of his mouth as he carefully picked them up seeing his reflection before carefully putting them on as Excella giggled.

"Very charming." She said as Shane looked at them smiling more. "He looks just like you Albert, but with different shades." She said looking at him as Wesker watched Shane look at the door flinching slightly but relaxed.

"I-I-I can see outside…" He said in awe making Excella look at him.

"Of course you can, those were made especially for you and your eyes. Isn't that right darling?" She asked looking at Wesker walking around her as Shane soon fixed his gaze on him as he offered his hand, Shane took it as he was helped up before grabbing his boot in the doorway keeping it open slightly in the process.

"You can go outside but don't wander off." Wesker said looking at him sharply. "If you leave the grounds, I will not be pleased with you…" Before he could finished Shane cut him off.

"And you'll kick my ass and I'll be in my room again, I get it so don't worry so much pops." He said walking outside a few steps, Wesker could tell he was slightly scared, after all, this was his second time back outside in the world in nine years, but this time the sun was out, thus he walked outside with him closing the door in the process.

"Shane, you must know that you can do whatever you want as long as I say otherwise." Wesker said looking at him as Shane grabbed the railing to look at the place in awe, his night adventure didn't show much but now he saw everything in the light of the sun, the place was huge.

"It's easier said than done, you weren't locked in that place like I was." He said looking back at him. "You'd understand if you were in my shoes." He said looking away sighing in the process. "Every second of the day, you're constantly being watched, uncertain if it would be your last day or not, I can still hear them screaming at night before their voices are cut short…" He told as Wesker knew what he was talking about, failed testing resulted in pure madness from the subjects and they were put down quickly to prevent any spreading of infection. Shane looked over the railing again seeing water flowing, his reflection was there making his mind wander to Raccoon City, he could still hear the music…

(Part 5 of Ch11)

Raccoon City - June 3rd, 1998 - Raccoon City Zoo - Tram Entrance

The clear water was amazing as he looked at the fish swimming around as he tossed some fish food at them making him laugh as they crowded to get the food as his reflection rippled. Slowly he looked toward Sofia talking to an Umbrella worker, Shane knew the woman was one due to her badge being on her belt, they were talking like Sofia usually did when they were out and about Raccoon City, usually when they would arrive at their place Sofia would end up being pulled aside by an Umbrella worker and he knew they were up in Umbrella since their badges were different from his mother's.

He smiled seeing other kids around him, more people coming and going as he looked back into the water dipping his finger in wiggling it around as the fish nibbled on it making him laugh. The zoo music was inviting as he swayed his head gently smiling at the fish.

"Fresh popcorn! Get your popcorn!" Shouted the popcorn vendor in the corner near the lion show entrance making Shane look, he always wanted to try popcorn since the kids teased him about it and the new popcorn flavor lollipops.

"You should report that to Mr. Spencer." The woman said as Shane came over tugging on Sofia's shirt. "Hi Shane, how have you been?"

"Okay." He said smiling at her. "You and mom talking about me again?" He asked before sticking his tongue out and looked up at Sofia. "Mom, can I please have some popcorn?"

"You know it's not good for you honey." She said looking at him patting his head as he frown slightly.

"I know but still, can I try it at least one time? Just once. Please?" He asked looking up at her with pleading blue eyes as she gave instantly handing him some money out of her pocket. "Awesome! I love you mom." He said hugging her soon running over to the vendor as the worker looked at Sofia.

"I'm sorry…I love him too much to say no." Sofia said shaking her head.

"I wasn't going to file this event but will have to , due to them always watching." She said gesturing to the camera on the light pole close to them making Sofia shake her head as she watched Shane get popcorn before running over as music started to play loudly somewhere within the zoo, Sofia and Shane both knew that music.

"Mom! Oscar's show is about to start." He said smiling. "Come on, we'll miss it if we don't hurry." He said taking her hand and pulled lightly.

"I'll inform Mr. Spencer on how things are going." The woman said nodding as Sofia was pulled off by Shane heading to seeing Oscar, the elephant.

"Spencer…" Shane said as Wesker looked at him curiously as Shane soon fixed his gaze on him after fixing his sunglasses. "Spencer… most of my life when I was with mom… Sofia …" He said shaking his head. "She would be talking to someone about a Mr. Spencer? Do you have any idea who he is?" He asked as Wesker smirked slightly. "What?"

"I knew him personally." Wesker replied with a gesture that they should walk and Shane took it as they did so. Wesker talked as he strolled, "Ozwell E. Spencer was a brilliant man though I would have to say he was a bit too Machiavellian for his own good. He co-founded Umbrella and managed to outlive all of his partners through guile and pure luck. His god complex simply wouldn't let him fail at trying to rule and manipulate as many people as possible. Sadly the one thing Spencer could not manipulate was time which unfortunately for the old deluded fool he ran out of time a while ago."

Shane interrupted, "His name was Ozwell…could he be Grandpa Ozwell? The old man mom made me think was my grandfather?"

Wesker smiled, "Without a doubt. Ozwell was obsessed with creating the perfect race through biological manipulation, breeding and genetic engineering. We are the results of some of these projects. We were engineered to be the physical embodiment of his vision of perfect humanity."

Shane was shocked, "…he had me engineered..?" Shane asked not wanting to think about it. "If I'm so damn important, why am I here?" He asked looking at Wesker stopping him after they walked down some steps. "I mean, if I'm supposed to be so perfect, then why did all this shit happen to me? Ever since we left Raccoon City, we were hunted like animals, every single day we had to look over our shoulders to see if someone was following us." He said walking toward the railing in front of them. "And then that day…" He said holding the railing looking at the compound. "Coming home finding her there on the floor….I knew then they found us…but why…why are they trying to kill me?" He asked looking at Wesker. "Why?"

Wesker leaned on the railing next to Shane and stared at him, "Don't you understand that you were a wild success as far as experiments go? You survived Raccoon City as a child and you evaded Spencer's goon squads for years and survived in an asylum that would have broken lesser men… The reason everything happened to you was because like me, you exceeded all expectations and this scared the people who created us." Wesker patted Shane on the shoulder, "We were bred to be Gods among men and the one thing mankind has always feared is the Gods. Man can't control them, he can't manipulate them and he can't trick them for long. All he can do is hope they show him mercy and pray the Gods don't unleash their terrible wrath on them."

"Bred to be Gods." Shane repeated with a chuckle liking the idea but it sounded farfetched. "I sure don't feel like one." He said leaning against the railing again seeing some of the mess he made the previous night. "You know I just realized something…" He said looking at Wesker again. "You said your eyes were caused by that virus in your system and it healed you of your wounds that Tyrant gave you, but would you care to enlighten me how you so friggin' fast and strong? Is it from that same virus?"

Wesker motioned for Shane to follow him. As they walk towards the armory he continues to explain, "You shouldn't ask questions to which the answers are obvious. You're smarter than that Shane." He said as Shane looked away embarrassed. "Of course it was the virus. It remade me on every level. Every fiber of my physical being was made stronger, denser more resistant to injury and fatigue. My senses have been heightened to match the speeds at which I now function. I can literally dodge bullets, jump over fifteen foot walls in a single leap, bend steel pipes with my bare hands and run as fast as my thoughts." As they enter the armory Wesker walked toward a cabinet filled with odd looking handguns. He grabbed one, flicked a switch on the side and then handed it to Shane before grabbing one himself. Wesker then slipped on a black vest with small silver sensors in a grid pattern sewn all around it. He handed one to Shane and said, "Put it on and meet me at room 1. Your training starts in five minutes."

Shane watched Wesker go down a hallway before he looked back down at the vest uncertain what it was for. He went to ask Wesker a question but all he saw was a red door open and Wesker's trench coat swinging into it before it shut. Shane frowned and then looked at the gun studying it, it didn't look like any gun he'd seen before and it didn't even have a magazine either making him wonder if it was a laser light gun of some sort, like kids used to play tag with after school. Regardless he set the gun down and slipped the vest on and tightened the straps on the side, surprised it actually fit him. Before picking up the gun again and looked at the weapons in the cabinet, he smiled seeing a .45 in there. It reminded him of Kevin, which made him wonder if he was free to do as he pleased, would he be able to contact Kevin?

That thought made him chuckle to himself before looking in the direction Wesker went, obviously this training was going to be about firearms, which he was good at. He started toward the door looking the gun over making sure he was comfortable holding it and held it with both hands moving carefully toward the door like Kevin taught him to do. Even though he was taught to handle, manage the care for fire arms, and how to shoot, Shane remembered how to move like a police officer would thanks to Kevin and the cop movies and shows he watched on TV.

Room 1 was lit up over the doorway in a small green sign. As it opened for him and he walked inside Shane's eyes couldn't adjust to the dim light making it hard for him to see with his sunglasses on which made him pull them down slightly. Adjusting to the dimness Shane started seeing more of the room. Wesker wasn't in there making him look around hearing lights clicking on forcing his sunglasses back up with haste as the room suddenly got brighter.

"This is going to be interesting…" Shane whispered as he blinked to adjust his eyes and seeing four corridors in front of him next to a table with medical supplies on top of it. Shane looked around pointing his gun wherever he looked and waited a second before proceeding to the table. He had just gotten next to it when he heard something in one of the corridors. Without thinking he grabbed one of the kits and attached it to his belt before putting his back against the wall next to the corridor.

Wesker's voice seemed to echo out of it, "Decisions, Decisions." Shane hefted the gun up, breathed out and then spun aiming the gun at the corridor where the voice came from. Seeing nothing there he walked to another corridor, peeked down it and saw it was the same as the previous one. He saw a flicker of movement at the end of the corridor in the shadows, smirked, checked the kit on his belt and moved down it with his gun pointed in front of him.

Shane was fighting hard the memories that were coming to him from Raccoon City until his back hit the wall making him scold himself and shake his head. "Damn it." He said lowly.

Somewhere ahead of him he heard Wesker taunt him, "Be wary of your surroundings boy!"

Shane gritted his teeth, forcing Raccoon out of his mind and aimed the gun down the corridor he was in seeing it opened, he looked at the entrance and then at the opening and moved carefully trying to stay focused on what would come up, his mind told him that things would jump out, moving targets, but his mind again betrayed him as it wandered to what Wesker had said, surely that virus in his system would help Shane with his issues, maybe make him more stronger mentally as well as physically. Improved senses, increased speed and strength, those were things he always wanted, and maybe he was closer in getting that than he thought.

The opening had a few items strewn about from what he could see and there he saw Wesker's trench coat laying on one of the metal containers scattered around the room making him look around quickly before taking cover behind one near him. Shane's mind told him this was clearly a trap and he wasn't taking any chances but he couldn't stop the images that came at him once again. The running, the panic the set up and betrayal. Why were they now coming to him? He heard a click like something small and metal snapping before something that sounded like a tin can smacked and skidded on the ground near him. Shane sprinted to the next large metal container as a blinding flash and a loud bang erupted behind him as he dove for cover rolling roughly over the cold metal before finally hitting the wall behind it. In haste he aimed the gun where he once was, no one was there but a black mark where a flash bang went off.

A dark chuckle seemed to come from nowhere as Wesker spoke bemused, "My, my it appears someone has been watching too many movies."

"He's here…" Shane whispered knowing Wesker had to be watching him from somewhere nearby. "How the hell did he find me?" He asked himself getting up bumping his foot against another flash bang; he jumped slightly in his skin until he realized it had been sitting there all along. Shane had never handled grenades before unless playing war with water balloons or video games counted but he'd have to learn how to now. Shane clipped the grenade in place on his belt and peeked around the corner of the steel box; he could definitely hear movement but couldn't tell where it was coming from, the acoustics in this place made it impossible to know.

"Pfft…like this is a fair fight." Shane growled while standing up, he caught something in his peripheral vision making him turn slightly but was kicked hard in the back sending him forward into the opening and flat on his face making him shout before rolling over aiming the gun where he once was seeing no one. "You jackass! That's uncalled for!" He snapped scrambling to his feet looking around quickly trying to locate Wesker and fast.

Wesker's voice seemed indignant as he spoke, "Fairness? Uncalled for? If there is one thing life should have taught you is that it is never fair and everything it throws at you is uncalled for!"

Wesker so far was impressed with Shane, the boy's senses had improved greatly but the memories were distracting him whenever he got into a high pressure situation. His personality seemed to revert to that of an angry, spoiled child ranting about the cards he was dealt. It was possible for Wesker to cure Shane of these little mental roadblocks and possibly use those memories to help fuel Shane's aggression and focus it. Failing that he could make it so that the boy could lock them away with more treatments.

Part 6 Ch 11)

Wesker smirked watching Shane moving carefully about the room, skidding and sneaking from cover to cover being careful to keep clear of the coat and always aiming his gun where he was looking. Wesker knew of Shane's relationship with that screw up beat cop he remembered from the station house. He remembered Kevin Ryman and how he had repeatedly tried out for the S.T.A.R.S. team but never could pass. He always seemed on cruise control and his devil may care attitude was hardly suited to an elite unit despite his weapon's skills. Still could the same fuck-up he knew have taught Shane how to move around like that? Wesker had a lot to ponder later. Circling around the rooms and corridors in a hidden catwalk Wesker studied Shane a second more before jumping down into another corridor. He smiled as he set up a trap to see how well Shane would react to it. And if he failed, well, that was another lesson learned wasn't it?

Shane heard Wesker's boots clack heavy against the floor in another corridor and moved quickly in the direction before peeking around the corner seeing him doing something. The smug bastard was so wrapped up in what he was doing he didn't hear him. Shane smiled and popped out pulling the trigger rapidly on his gun. Green LED lights pulsed down the barrel as he squeezed the trigger. Wesker flinched and sprinted away making Shane growl as he kept pulling the trigger running after him before feeling a painful shock on his gut making him cringe and jerk to the side skidding against the corridor wall. Shane instantly moved behind a tall metal cabinet for cover as he scanned the room ahead. The hairs on the back of his neck and arms were standing straight and he had goose bumps all over his skin. Shane rubbed the vest on his stomach and felt a burning and tingling sensation as he rubbed the slight soreness away.

"What the hell? Is this supposed to shock me?" He asked peeking around the corner again wondering what Wesker was up to.

Wesker spoke bemused, "Of course it does, and pain is the ultimate learning tool!"

Shane looked around him quickly thinking he was going to be ambushed again. He was on alert but after not hearing and seeing anything for a minute, Shane crept down the hall with the gun at the ready, He scanned above, forward and behind himself as his gut tingled from nerves and the shock he received before. As he moved toward where Wesker was he was somewhat surprised at not finding anything except an empty box with a wire attached to it and curled around the side.

Slowly Shane waved his gun over it and then hesitantly poked the box flinching but nothing happened. It was clearly some kind of booby trap that Wesker had attempted to set but he must have not finished it. Looking around once more making sure there was no surprises around him, Shane moved onward and around the next corner seeing stairs leading up to another level. A small blue sign glowed above the door of the stairwell with the words Level 2 above it in white. Shane joked in a whisper like a game announcer and repeated, "Level two... Fight!" and stalked up the steps slowly.

 -Chapter 12

Shane pressed himself against the wall as the door opened for the next level and quickly he moved into the short hall before seeing three men standing in the center of the next room, quickly he took cover behind a pillar to observe the room seeing that it only held four single pillars and three guards in which he recognized from last night but this time instead of guns, they had stun rods. His gut tensed seeing that and he ducked back behind cover, there was another hallway behind them.

Shane had to think, they weren't wearing any vests which told him he needed to fight them, hand to hand, but with those stun rods that would be a problem. "The flash bang." He whispered grabbing it from his belt and held it in his hand looking it over seeing the pin and handle, he smiled pulling the pin and in a single fluid motion tossed it around the corner, he heard one of them say something and then a bright flash and loud bang made Shane run out of his cover toward them. They were staggering from the effects and he grabbed the nearest one that had his back to Shane.

Shane wrapped his arm around his head jerking him back before rolling backwards flipping the man behind him, the guard made impact with one of the pillars knocking him out; Shane got up and hurried to the second one grabbing him by the head and jerked down as he brought his knee up breaking the guard's nose making him stagger back allowing Shane to shoulder ram him against another pillar. The final guard, after the second was taken care of, was starting to come around making Shane rushed him tackling him to the floor before grabbing his arm and pressed his foot against the guard's neck and pulled. It would have broken the man's neck if Shane were to jerk hard enough but he wasn't aiming for that, he just wanted him knocked out and once the man was out cold did Shane let go and look at what he done, impressed with himself.

All that exercise was really paying off making him smirk before catching a light sound behind him making him jump to the side and aim his gun just as he saw the leg extend to where he was standing a second ago and there was Wesker, Shane opened fire with his gun as Wesker dodge the laser and kept doing so till he started to flip sideways making Shane move before smirking, once Wesker landed on his one leg Shane rush grabbing it right out from under him causing Wesker to fall onto his back as Shane wrapped his one leg around his own and twisted the leg, Wesker smirked seeing Shane trying to break his leg but failed to remember of Wesker's strength, in a single quick action his free leg smacked Shane on the head making him let go and stumble away, instantly Shane placed his hand on his left eye as it ached badly hearing Wesker get up.

"Don't underestimate me boy." Wesker said calmly as Shane aimed his gun at him again before getting up, Wesker saw that he did make contact with Shane's head but didn't expect hitting him above his left eye and there was now a huge red mark. Shane didn't say anything as he started to back up never taking his right eye off Wesker, thankfully the sunglasses stayed on his face after being hit but he was now handicapped, he couldn't see out of his left eye. When Wesker took another step Shane backed up more knowing better than to shoot since Wesker was looking right at him which was intimidating. Wesker smirked and charged at him, Shane tried to react but with his head throbbing it made it hard to focus, his arms where pushed away as the palm of Wesker's hand made contact against Shane's chest knocking him back hard hitting the wall of the corridor leading to the next area, Wesker was already at him holding him in place with a hand around Shane's throat. "Give?" He asked as Shane looked at him behind his sunglasses.

"Never." Shane said pointing the gun he still had in his right hand at Wesker's chest and pulled the trigger making Wesker flinch and twitch till he left Shane go by tossing him aside, the impact with the ground and his left shoulder was terrible. "Damn." He said lowly rolling onto his back aiming the gun at Wesker who was recovering from the shocks which was just enough time for Shane to get up even though his body was aching badly, he didn't even make it a foot till he felt Wesker grabbing him by the shoulder and applied pressure making him shout before feeling his legs buckle from a kick forcing him down on them, he wasn't going to give in but his mind was screaming at him to do so. He was so close to the exit he could barely even look at it cause of the pain shooting through his body.

"Do you give now?" Wesker asked, Shane couldn't do anything with his back to him and was already in serious pain, but when Wesker saw him shake his head 'No', he had to admit the boy had guts. As soon as he left go Shane gasped before being forced down onto the ground hard with Wesker's boot implanted on his back before pushing down as Shane struggled to get out. "Now?" He asked as Shane shook his head again. "You're cornered boy, trapped, you have nothing else to do, and why do you keep going?"

"Cause I can." Shane replied trying to move away but found he couldn't. "We don't give up." He said struggling to get up but Wesker kept him down making him growl. "If I was stronger you would so be regretting this." He said.

St. Jeremy's Hospital - 4 Years after Raccoon City

Shane groaned as he woke up painfully and slowly, a terrible cold breeze on him made him groan again as he tried to stay warm as he opened his eyes. They pulsed with pain making him close them slightly, he saw his right arm and nestled it close to his neck feeling something wasn't right, his eyes drifted down seeing he wasn't wearing his shirt making him cough trying to push himself up. Pain shot through his skull making him cringe in pain as his hands held his throbbing head.

"What's going on?" He asked faintly feeling wet bandages, when he looked at his right hand again it was stained with light blood. "Blood…am I bleeding?" He asked himself in a whisper slowly pushing himself up keeping his head on the floor with his eyes closed till he was on his hands and knees. His skull pounded like a drum, it hurt so bad he started to cry before opening his eyes and froze. "W-w-what?" He asked seeing he was naked and he quickly sat down on his legs looking at himself, which was a poor mistake as his head washed with a thin sheet of darkness making him fall backwards against the glass door behind him.

His body felt so weak, he felt weak, sick, afraid, angry. His mind was spinning and drifting, begging him to lay still and sleep but part of him was afraid of what would happen if he did such things. Once his vision cleared he looked at himself painfully still in disbelief that he was naked making him cover. His eyes slowly looked around the small room, there was a toilet and a metal bed frame attached to the wall, he saw that under it was a crawl space and a pair of black tennis shoes.

"Where am I?" He asked lowly looking back at the bed seeing clothing finally next to the white pillow, painfully and nearly blacking out Shane, crawled over grabbing the white tank top and the black polyester pants before laying down as the room spun around him making him groan wanting it to stop, his head was throbbing more and he swore his skull was going to explode from the pain. He struggled terribly as he laid there slipping the pants on before whimpering wishing it would stop, he could already feel his blood running through his hair, the beads running down his skin making him scratch to only pull back to look at the blood, he cried out wanting attention as he laid there half dressed. "Someone please…" He pleaded closing his eyes. "I want to go home…"

"I told you, I'm fine." Shane said looking at Wesker behind his sunglasses, the first day of training was done but his body felt like it went through one of the nine levels of hell considering what Wesker did to him. He couldn't stop or leave, Wesker had a hold of his arm firmly pulling him along to the infirmary to get treated of his wounds to ready him for tomorrow's training.

"You're still getting checked, if you have any broken bones, this will delay our training." He said reaching the infirmary as the door slid open and the two walked in, Excella was there with two small silver cases filled with needles making Shane winch seeing them. "Those are not yours." Wesker told him pushing him to the examination table before sitting down in a nearby chair.

"Darlings, did everything go okay?" Excella asked looking at them and then spotted Shane's bruise as he sat down on the table. "Oh my, what happened?" She asked as Shane shook his head.

"It's nothing…pain is the ultimate learning tool." He said repeating what Wesker said before, the doctor came over to examine him making him sigh taking the sunglasses off showing his left eye was swollen shut making Excella look at Wesker quickly. "I'm fine." Shane said looking at her as she looked back at him with her hands now firmly resting on her hips; he knew that gesture and rolled his good eye.

"Fine? You can't even see out your left eye!" She said in anger and in concern as Shane shook his head.

"I've had worse." He said looking at her again. "I had a broken nose and a black eye, you try going for a month looking like that." He told.

"Who did that to you?" Wesker asked puzzled by this new information as Shane looked at him and sighed.

"Bullies… I was picked on a lot and bullied all the time, was going home when they got their hands on me." He said looking at the floor as the doctor lifted Shane's shirt to see if there were any obvious markings, there was a boot imprint on his back. "They took me by surprise and pinned me down; I was kicked in the face and then punched." He told.

"When was this?" Wesker asked as Excella huffed grabbing one of his shots.

"Our first new home…" was Shane's low reply. "We went to Texas, mom wanted to find any of her family, we stayed there for almost a year…" He said now holding his shirt up as the doctor checked his chest finding a hand print and looked at Wesker who just shrugged. "Want me to take it off?" Shane asked as the doctor looked at him and nodded, it hurt pulling the shirt off as Shane held his left shoulder slowly rotating it as Excella tried her hardest to hide her blush seeing Shane topless again before seeing the boot imprint on his back.

"Do you think you roughed him enough Albert?" She asked grabbing his shot as Shane looked over at them curious what was going on.

"We're not done yet." He said smirking, he soon looked at Shane winching as Excella pushed the needle into his arm. "My medicine." He said as Shane looked at him.

"Ouch." Shane replied looking away soon noticing the doctor grabbing a needle filled with something which made Shane jump off the table fast. "Nu-uh! You are not sticking me." He said keeping his eye on the doctor who looked at him puzzled by his behavior. "You going to stick someone, do yourself." He said hearing Wesker get up which made him groan getting back onto the table. "Shit…" He said as Wesker shook his head.

"Shane, you know better, you need these shots in order to get better." Wesker told as Shane looked at him again distracting him as the doctor got behind him.

"Get better? Don't you think I already am? You just beat the living shit out of me--ouch!" Shane snapped feeling the needle jabbed into his back which caused his hands to tighten on the edge of the table, the contents of the needle was thick and it burned within contact of his living flesh and muscle. "What the hell is that stuff?!" He snapped lowering his head clenching his teeth.

Wesker looked at Shane with mild annoyance adjusting his glasses, "It's simply another booster shot to keep you from getting infections. You claim you're better and yet you still cry like a colicky baby every single time you get a shot. You really need to stop doing that if you expect to convince me that you're feeling better." Shane got irritated but Wesker ignored it and kept speaking, "I mean really Shane, do you expect me to believe that a tiny needle is causing you more pain than the thousands of painful moments you've already experienced in your short, violent life? When is it going to finally sink into that thick skull of yours?" Shane frowned but kept quiet as Wesker spoke, "You were born better and you should start acting like it. Pain is something that fuels us and makes us stronger. It does not make us cower, whimper or complain like a whipped dog, it makes us rage and strive to overcome it, to harness its energy and use it to propel us forward ahead of the rest. We are never the victims Shane, only the victors."

Shane grew more irritated and held his head lightly trying to forget about the doctor and the needle before hitting the table startling Excella and the doctor, but he said nothing, there was nothing to say. The memories and the pain made him hold his head as Wesker watched him carefully, the boy was trying hard to push them aside that was clear. Shane hit the table again before looking at the floor again shaking his head before looking at Wesker.

"…what do you want me to do?" He asked as Wesker walked over to him putting a hand on his shoulder pushing him down and Shane complied groaning slightly from his sore chest and back feeling the cool sheet paper on his skin as he looked up at the examination light as an image flashed in his mind making him stiffen.

"Is there something wrong?" Wesker asked as the doctor grabbed a bottle full of a light red coloration liquid filling another needle full of it.

"That light…I saw it before; it was in that room they took me to." Shane said looking at the light more as his back tingled from the shot.

"Do you remember what it looked like?" Wesker asked as the doctor nodded him showing he was ready to give Shane another shot.

"It's burned in my memory." Shane said sighing. "I'm not afraid of needles…I just don't like not knowing what's in it." He said closing his right eye. "We still need to talk sometime." He said twitching feeling the doctor grab his arm, he looked seeing the new needle making him look up at the light trying to ignore the needle soon feeling it being pushed into his arm, he did his best to not move or make a sound, he felt it entering his system making him shiver greatly which made Wesker look at him quickly.

"What's wrong now?" He asked trying to understand Shane's reaction seeing his eye was glistening. "Shane?"

"That…that…" He said soon feeling the needle pulled out making him look at Wesker. "That felt like the shot they gave me…but it made me go to sleep." He said shaking his head feeling sleepy. "Fuck… you gave me that crap..." He said trying to stay awake, the booster shot had a sleeping agent in it and the doctor watched Shane soon go limp on the table as Excella watched him breath steady before looking at Wesker.

"Why did you give him that?" She asked crossing her arms knowing what that last shot was.

Wesker looked at Excella slightly annoyed, "He continues to defy me whenever I tell him to rest. Shane should have been further along in his treatments but he consistently goes against my orders to rest and relax. It's as if something inside him makes him want to rebel against everything."

Excella shook her head and moved her arm as she spoke almost to emphasize her point, "Albert he's a young man. Don't you recall your youth and rebelling against authority? It's a part of growing up."

Wesker pushed his sunglasses back up the bridge of his nose and adjusted one of his gloves as he spoke, "What I recall of my youth is irrelevant to this situation. You're acting very protective of Shane. Is it simply a scientist concerned for her test subject or something more?"

Excella put one hand on her hip with anger and the other she pointed at Wesker, "I don't care for what you're implying Albert! I am concerned with the boy's health. Call it a maternal instinct if you want to go that far but I believe your pushing the boy too hard with the treatments to catch up with your time table."

Wesker walked over to Excella who backed away a step, "My dear Excella this boy can take all the so called pushing he's taken from us so far and more… my blood flows through his veins and to call him a weakling is to call me a weakling. Do I strike you as a weak?"

Excella flinched slightly as Wesker picked up a metal cylinder paperweight off a table and crushed it between his thumb and forefinger until it resembled a coin that was flattened on a train track.

Excella stammered, "N… no darling I would never say such a thing about you. I am just concerned for the well being of Shane and by proxy you and our plans." Saying that Excella put her hand on Albert's chest and ran her fingers down it as she purred, "It's only my concern for us darling, nothing more, I assure you."

Wesker looked into her eyes for a few seconds before grunting in approval of what she had said. Wesker's watch beeped and he checked the face of it before turning around and walking away from Excella. He walked briskly past the doctor flipping the "coin" in his hand onto the doctor's clip board as he spoke, "I think you can handle things here. I have other matters to attend to."

After Wesker left the room Excella sighed in relief and the doctor looked at the flattened paperweight in his hands in disbelief.

- (part 2 of Ch12)

One Hour Later - St. Jeremy's Hospital - 4 Years after Raccoon City

Shane laid where he was, his mind made him slip into the darkness to allow his body to heal but that wasn't going to be enough since he was suffering head trauma. The glass door slowly slid into the wall without a sound as two orderlies entered, one went behind Shane slipping his hands under the boy's arms while the other grabbed his legs and together they lifted him off the floor placing him carefully onto the bed propping him up so they could slip his shirt on and change his bandages.

Shane never stirred but they heard him mumble faintly a single word, "Mom…" and then he was silent, the kid was obviously dreaming but that wasn't going to be the end of it, they knew that once he was fully aware to where he was, his screaming, his cries, his dreams, would not be the last thing they would be hearing.

"Why does the boss even want this kid?" The one orderly asked cleaning the deep gashes on Shane's head making sure all the stitches where still in place before looking at the other orderly who shrugged in response.

"I honestly have no idea, nothing much on his file besides the standard information." He told rubbing the bottoms of Shane's feet. "This kid survived Raccoon City, if you can believe it."

"Him? Ha, that's impossible unless he had helped, but did you notice this." The first orderly said pushing Shane forward while pulling up his shirt revealing the massive scars on his back. "Looked like something tried to kill him." The second orderly was stunned seeing those marks and looked at the first. "You recognize them?"

"Hell yes, those are from those lizard creatures the boss has locked up in the basement, I saw one, huge fucking claws, I'm betting a years worth of my paychecks, this kid got attacked by one." The second said as the first laughed. "I'm not joking, I heard of what those things can do."

"I know, but I'm surprised this kid didn't turn into a monster." The first said shaking his head soon pulling Shane back against him grabbing the bandages out of a pocket. "But whatever reason this kid is here, it's clear the boss has plans for him." He told nodding wrapping Shane's head up again.

"We might find out one day but until then, I need to get him some food, you go and take your break." The second said getting up leaving the room as the first finished and laid Shane down.

"What makes you so special?" He asked looking at Shane. "You're just a kid, not even out of high school… being here you won't learn anything…" He said shaking his head before leaving closing the glass door behind him. "Poor kid." He said looking one last time before leaving.

'Is he part of the program?' Asked a voice in the darkness.

'Yes. He won't remember a thing after we're done. He won't remember this procedure.' Spoke another voice in the distance. 'He is the only one left that was there.'

'What happened to the others?' Asked the first voice.

'Terminated." Said the other voice

'Make sure he is strapped down tightly." Said a new voice with a thick Russian accent, 'This will hurt."

'Is the sample ready?' Asked the second voice.

'He's coming with it now; we just need to make sure he won't struggle as it enters him." Said the Russian, "Nicholai will use him…"

Shane started shaking as he laid on his bed, Excella was nearby watching him, ever since her small quarrel with Wesker, she felt she needed to show she was serious about Shane's health so she came with him when they returned him to his room, the doctor was next to the bed with a few medical supplies in case Shane's wounds became worse.

'What do you think if he were to find out?' Asked the second voice.

'He never will.' said another voice in the distance with a Russian accent. 'He'll be dead before he finds out what we did to the kid.' He said, his voice getting closer.

'Comrade Nicholai, everything is ready.' Said another voice.

'Good, open his mouth and hold his tongue.' Nicholai said in the darkness.

Shane could feel his mouth being open and his eyes snapped open in response seeing the doctor looming over him, instantly Shane grabbed his hand and throat startling Excella who stood up quickly hearing the doctor trying to breath, in haste she ran over to the medical cart grabbing a needle of a sleeping agent and stabbed it into Shane's neck making him gasp and look at her, his blue eyes showed he was frightened and enraged before they were shut and he went limp, the doctor staggered back hitting the wall gasping for breath as Excella looked at Shane while removing the needle.

"This is getting too far out of hand…" She said to herself as she stroked Shane's head. "The new audio is triggering more aggression in him, but what is it that Albert wants him to remember?" She asked aloud. Excella turned and looked at the doctor. "You may leave, I'll watch him." The doctor nodded and left with haste shutting the door behind him leaving Excella stroking Shane's head. "Shane, you need to keep calm, let the memories come, they can't hurt you anymore." She whispered.

Shane stirred and began unconsciously repeating his long suppressed memories out loud, "Hold him! We can't let him choke!"

'Give him another sedative!' Nicholai snapped.

The second voice panicked, "Mister Ginovaef, the plaga is too big to go down his throat, we should…'

Nicholai growled, "No, this plaga will go down and we can't risk cutting him open, he will find out and all this will fail." Shane started gagging and continued to speak, "There, that's it, allow it to go down. Good boy. Keep swallowing, take it all in."

Shane started gagging again as Excella looked at him concern, "Is he dreaming already?" She could see his eyes moving quickly under his eye lids as Excella spoke with concern, "What is it? What's happening?"

She wished she could see what Shane was seeing and hearing inside his head. It was frustrating but then an idea formed in her head. Excella soon smiled and left the room entering the mirror room. She bit her lower lip slightly turn the microphone on.

"Shane…" Excella whispered gently into it. "…tell us what's going on..." She said watching him stirring. "What are you dreaming about?"

"That room…They're… putting something down my throat… they keep calling a… plaga inside me…" He said softly as he kicked slightly making Excella watch him.

"Who? Who's doing this to you?" She asked watching. "Shane, who is hurting you?"

"I can't see them… I can only hear their voices…" He replied shaking. "They said one was Nicholai…"

"Nicholai?" Excella repeated covering the microphone hearing the door open and saw Wesker standing there. "Oh, Albert, you're just in time. Shane's in a deep unconscious state and he's been recounting something some thing horrific that's happened to him."

Wesker stood there coolly and spoke, "What has he stated specifically?"

Wesker walked inside closing the door as Excella spoke, "He says they forced a plaga down his throat and one of the names he keeps repeating is Nicholai… Nicholai Ginovaef." Wesker's eyes flashed red for a second under his glasses startling Excella for a second before she said, "I take it you know that name?"

"Yes." Wesker frowned as he watched Shane through the glass. "He's been an occasional thorn in my side since Raccoon City. I knew..." Wesker's dialogue was interrupted when Shane thrashed on the bed before screaming. Wesker walked closer to the two way glass as Shane cried out yelling for Wesker as he bolted upright in bed fully awake in a panic which startled Wesker a bit. Excella looked at Albert and then Shane sitting up on the bed holding his knees firmly against his chest calling for Wesker again in a weak whisper.

Excella was concerned, "Aren't you going to go in there Albert?" Wesker studied Shane through the glass silently and then turned towards her "He's very upset darling, perhaps you should…"

Wesker interrupted Excella, "Give him time." Wesker said glancing back at Shane before checking his watch. Wesker had been gone for two hours and he was irritated that he had come back to find this mess. He looked back at Shane and his mind started racing through the implications of what they discovered.

Albert was thankful he was recording everything so he could go back and review the entire session and maybe it would answer the questions his mind kept asking. He still didn't understand why they chose the boy above everyone else in the compound?, Surely if Nicholai was planning to cause a plauga infestation why would he choose the one person that they were going to run through medical tests all the time? It just didn't make sense. Was it arrogance, a distraction or something else?

But more disturbing was how did they get a hold of Shane inside the compound?

Wesker needed to know everything. Turning back to Excella he said, "Go in and check on Shane. If he asks for me tell him I'm unavailable. I need to focus my full attention on he information you gathered." Excella frowned and stood up. She didn't mind helping Shane but she still felt Albert should have at least gone in to talk to the boy.

Albert Wesker spent a full three days solid investigating the security breach he knew he must have had. Hours were spent looking over the camera feeds, security logs and other security measures he had in place and still found nothing out of the ordinary. When Shane was out he went over every inch of his room personally and still, nothing out of the ordinary was found.

It was obvious Nicholai had men on the inside but how many? They had already ferreted out one but how many more could there be? Knowing Nicholai and his KGB tactics it had to be a small insertion, no more than two active spies and since they had already ferreted out one and disposed of one there had to be another somewhere in the compound.

It would be infinitely more difficult to find this one so security would have to be tightened further. With the time table as it stands Wesker would have to wait for the mole to show his hand before he could react. Hopefully it wouldn't effect things at a crucial stage.

After pouring over all the data Wesker had reached a dead end. The last thing he needed was to talk to Shane. Perhaps the boy could give him more clues. Wesker made his way back to hidden room beside Shane's room. When he walked inside Excella was there monitoring Shane who was pacing slowly inside the room rubbing his arms. The boy was still frightened from the nightmares he was being made to relive.

Again Albert was puzzled why Nicholai had allowed Shane to remain conscience during the procedure. This seemed needlessly cruel even for someone as ruthless as Nicholai. He had to know Shane would be listening. Was this a part of his plan?

"Dad…" Shane said lowly soon leaning against the mirror as Excella turned the microphone off looking at Wesker and Shane together.

"I think you should go in now." She said fixing her hair. "After all, he is your son."

"Don't test my patience Excella." Wesker warned looking at her. "Shane needs to learn to face his fear and turn it into strength. He's strong he'll pull through this." He said looking at Shane sliding down the mirror burying his head between his legs. "He'll be like me one day." He said without thinking as Excella looked at him smiling hearing something fatherly from him for once.

Wesker had a slight smile on his face which vanished when he looked at Excella who was smiling at him, "What?"

Excella smiled, "You may try to hide it but you really do care for him. It makes me happy to see you finally showing something for the boy other than looking at him like an experiment."

Wesker looked at her coolly, "I smile because when I see him I see the old world passing away and a new one being forged in fire and blood with us ruling over it all."

Excella held her chest, "Oh Albert when you say it like that it sounds so positively evil…"

Wesker smirked, "Evil? I am no more malevolent than the mammals that survived the extinction of the dinosaurs. I simply exist to replace what came before me as does he. It isn't Shane who should tremble but the weaklings of this planet should when they look upon us."

With that Wesker exited the room leaving Excella to wonder just what kind of man she allied herself with.

After a moment Shane shook his head and gently rubbed the bruise next to his left eye, he was surprised he was able to open his eye but it hurt greatly in doing so. He was sorer now since he was given the shots than anything, he ached every time he moved but he had to admit that it felt good. It meant his body was adapting to the new exercises instead of what he was limited to, a frown came to him thinking of the open room, how many times he would try to get out of there using his sprinting to try and reach the cat walk only to fail or be shot with a bag to make him stay down.

When the door opened Shane looked away not wanting to know who it was, he was angry, scared and maybe wild. But whatever it was, he didn't want to hurt someone, not even himself. He'd rather curl up under something and wait this out but how could he when it was inside his mind, waiting for him to take the leap into the darkness? He held his head now, his back tingled as he tried to keep his mind focused on the present but he could hear them talking, feel them touching his limp body, feel the plaga on him and entering him. Tears began to form in his eyes again, he could feel everything again and it was sickening.

Wesker closed the door behind him and looked at Shane sternly, "Stand up Shane. We need to talk."

Shane didn't say a word nor did he want to, sure he called for him but the old man wouldn't know what to do let alone how he was feeling. Hell, he didn't know what a plaga was, Shane sure didn't let alone what it looked like. But it was dead, the one inside his body, it was dead! He felt it, they saw it, but why did he still feel this way? Sure he was aggressive and can be violent when he wanted to escape but this was getting out of hand, he was a good guy not some man who likes to pick fights with every living thing on site.

Wesker walked over and knelt down near Shane, "Shane talk to me."

When he felt Wesker touch him he cringed instantly and swatted Wesker's hand, a warning that he needed to be careful, of what? Himself? Shane didn't understand why he was like this and his body told him to stop moving. Again Wesker touched him and Shane couldn't look at him, not even when he said his name, but when Wesker addressed him fully, Shane couldn't help but look at him.

Wesker spoke sternly and gripped Shane's shoulder tightly, "Shane Kevin Wesker you will pay attention to me."

The name given to him, the middle name after Kevin since Sofia knew Kevin before she had Shane; and Wesker after his father. Shane couldn't help but smile lightly at him.

"Sorry…" Shane said finally averting his eyes only to end up looking back at Wesker seeing him remove his sunglasses to attempt at being friendlier with the boy.

"Shane, look at me. Nothing here can hurt you. Nothing in your head can hurt you. The only thing that is hurting you right now is yourself. I know these dreams and memories of yours have been bringing back some… intense feelings but you need to control them."

Shane sniffed, "I'm trying, I really am but I don't understand what these memories mean?"

Wesker stood up and held his hand out for Shane, who grabbed it hesitantly before Wesker pulled him to his feet. Wesker turned him around and made Shane face himself in the mirror and pointed to the side of Shane's head, "Do you see this? This is you, this is your mind and these are your memories. I want you to remember something Shane, all the nightmares, betrayals and horrors you have experienced are nothing. Do you hear me? They are absolutely nothing compared to all the glorious things waiting for you in your future. You have a home now boy, your real family and someday maybe a family of your own. Focus on the future to come and push the past behind you where it belongs."

Wesker turned Shane around and gripped his shoulders looking him directly in the eyes, "Despite the horrors of it all you've survived and endured and become stronger because of it. You have a bright future Shane and together we'll meet it head on."

With that Wesker let go of Shane's shoulders, took a step back before he could say anything Shane hugged him which caught Wesker and Excella behind the glass by surprise. Wesker hesitantly patted Shane on the back before he loosened his hug and stood back.

Shane smiled, "Thank you, I'm sorry I reacted that way but sometimes the nightmares seem so real I can't get my head to stop replaying them. I really… appreciate you being here for me, it means a lot to me."

Wesker nodded curtly, "Its okay. Just… remember what I told you. Focus on the future and everything will be fine." Wesker looked at his watch, "I'm sorry but I have to go. If you need anything please contact Excella or I and we'll be here to help." With that said Wesker exited the room only to see Excella standing with her arms folded in the hallway smiling at him. Wesker looked at her for a second and kept walking. Over his shoulder he said, "Not a word..." and left the hallway.

The characterisations of Excella & Wesker are so sharp and fit perfectly with their canon versions, I dont care much for Resident Evil 5 but your excting portrayal of these characters has me engrossed,

I will have my revenge on Umbrella!
